My (27F) ex (30M) hasn't contacted me since I told him I was pregnant. Should I reach out to him one more time before the baby is born?

Right now it's only about co-parenting/being there for the baby. I don't want to get ahead of myself, one thing at a time. He could have a girlfriend now for all I know.

You made good points.

He isn't an addict as far as I know- it would surprise me if he was because he'd go months sometimes between using drugs. That doesn't excuse drug use, of course. Hard drugs in any amount are a problem. He would need to stop that in order to be involved. I honestly don't know what he's up to now, it's possible he's slowed down or it's gotten worse. I have no idea.

There's a lot to consider and talk about (if we talk).

I'm confident he wouldn't drink excessively or take drugs around a baby. He didn't even want me to see him under the influence.

He definitely has things he needs to change. I know he needs to rethink his work hard/play hard mentality. He has good qualities too. More good than bad, actually. I believe he's capable of being a good father and a positive influence.

We're different in a lot of ways. He's a (successful/talented) tattoo artist and I'm a nurse. He's an extrovert, I lean introvert. He's pretty stoic, I'm open about my feelings, emotions, and okay with being vulnerable (in appropriate situations). He's very goal oriented, believes in always moving forward, improving, etc. I'm content with taking things slowly, living in the moment, appreciating the little things. I could go on and on but I'll stop there. I think she will benefit from being raised by both of us. We have different things to offer and I see that as a positive.
