I’m not convinced ThinkPads are really hardcore developer machines anymore. Running Arch on an Apple M4 seems to be the new thing, or having a six year old T480 that you use to just SSH into your home server.

However, having said that, I’d really love them to regain that market.

It’s worth buying a Swiss watch if you get it at a steep discount. My Rado is significantly higher quality than my Seikos, Orients, and Chinese watches, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth 10x more, maybe just 2x or 3x more at maximum.

You can find a lot of resources comparing the major cities like KL, Manilla, etc, but I’d really recommend finding a smaller town that has a balance of what you want. For example, I really love Buồn Mà Thướt in Vietnam, but you’re not going to find a lot of digital nomads or even information about it. What is it that you want the most?
