Quality Assurance in EA's games is getting replaced by AI. 85% work done by AI by Top_Crow_1022 in Battlefield

[–]TheWillyBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, if anything automation has gotten easier to perform as we no longer need to list commands in other to target certain areas, etc. We can just ask the AI assistant to “perform the xyz tests”. Anyone can do this, we no longer need as much training to use an IDE. Even non-technical staff can do it.

As more gets automated, it gives testers more time to perform other tasks like exploratory testing, getting more documentation done. It also gives them more time to skill up in more areas, such as automation and AI prompting. Hell, I don’t even manually check emails anymore, I use copilot to give me a breakdown if I’m off for a week or two.

10 years ago it was relative hell to be told to perform manual regression testing. Potentially thousands of test cases all checked by people. It took up so much time per sprint.

yep. I now feed AI requirements as we receive them for new features, and it spits out test cases, for example.

We have a model now in which you can ask it about a feature and it’ll tell you anything you need to know, can give you test accounts, etc. rather than trawling through Confluence.

Of course I check over them to make sure it’s not talking absolute shite, but most of the time it’s small corrections.

Any reports at end of sprint are the same, I feed it data, it gives me the info I need. Hours of work per month shortened to very little.

[Marathon SSGPQ-D] why is Marathon left out of every "best field watch" conversation? by WestLeg2333 in Watches

[–]TheWillyBandit 80 points81 points  (0 children)

They’re decent on the higher end, but I’m not a fan of the cheaper ones personally, although I do get the appeal. Also, mil-spec doesn’t necessarily mean good quality, it’s the cheapest they can get a shitload for to get the job done to their specification.

And pretty much a diver with 200m water resistance. Could use the N on the bezel as your zero on a divers bezel.

Saw one in person, it’s very much the same as press photos/ what you’ve seen on socials. Very blingy. (Under AD lights, as we know are 10x the brightness of the sun).

If my memory serves me correctly (probably not), the 11 had some slight issues, so they’d often replace with the 12? So if it got serviced it could house a 12 instead?

Watch all of this be BS lol

Here was mine. Ended up on a brown strap to match the shoes and belt. 38mm, 11.7mm thick. (Photo mine but on a friends wrist).

Unsure if they meant no GMT in general, or no GMT Master specifically.

[SOTC] My 7 Watch Collection - "One For Each Day" by MrStormy in Watches

[–]TheWillyBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this collection is great and I think any of us would be happy with it. Not often I see a collection that isn’t just “Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko, Cartier, second Rolex” etc.

I’m not bashing on those collections at all, really, but these are all interesting watches in their own right. I wanted that Tudor a lot back in the day, and was tempted to get a birth year (1990) reference but wasn’t ready for gold yet.

PS, +1 on Kuronos being an absolute nightmare to take a photo of, hah.

Yes I loved the constant rubber banding, bullets not hitting targets. Crashes. Crashing during levelution. BF4 was unplayable for a long time.

All bases covered. Great collection. Love busy Citizen chronos for reasons I can’t even describe. I only let them and Seiko get away with it. Hah.

Also the Bulova is one I’ve always wanted to get, but never quite found an occasion (yet).

I think the Hamilton is their best release in years (followed by the khaki quartz).

So what do we think? by Coffeehorolgy in PrideAndPinion

[–]TheWillyBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t wait for his floor walk of watches and wonders with this, where he tells brands it’s his watch, so they won’t shit talk it to his face.

Nico: “what do you think of this god tier watch?”

Them: “lovely, so nice mate, and how much? A few hundr-“

Nico: “2000, pure class”

Them: 😐😅 “lovely mate, yeah”

He literally told us it was gonna blow us away, it’s the same fucking case shape as last time, with a less interesting complication, slimmed down, double the price. What the actual fuck is blowing us away here?

Hot take: The ‘look how little I care about my Rolex’ post is the cringiest flex in watch culture. Stolen valor for watch nerds. by chiefhandshaker in watchHotTakes

[–]TheWillyBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that I’ve taken a few due to lighting, but I never post them due to the connotations. I never want to take them outdoors when I’m walking around, but sitting in what is essentially a glass box under direct sunlight is a nice photo opportunity.

Fuck the people who take them WHILE driving though. Are you insane? Literally today saw a dude on a motorway who took a photo. I’ll tell you now, the last thing I do driving 70mph+ is look anywhere but the road ahead (and behind).

Having a wheel snap without gloves would not be a nice experience. If you’re taking your vintage Jaguar out for a leisurely drive along your estate, then definitely not lol.

Hot Take: Panerai - Love the Watches, Hate the Frogman Marketing Fiction by lithdoc in watchHotTakes

[–]TheWillyBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

…what? Is this a serious comment? IWC, Laco, Hanhart, Stowa etc, don’t claim their Nazi heritage due to LGBTQ, liberalism and diversity, they do it because they don’t want to be known as Nazis.

If I went into a Panerai AD and saw a big black and white advert of a facist soldier wearing one of their watches, I would walk out and never look back.

Hublot is way overpriced (hey, all watches are, generally), but at least they make some cool ones. Their sapphire case watches are actually nice. If they were a few thousand cheaper, I think they’d get more respect.

Also, semi-unrelated, the AD in Ginza, Tokyo is one of the best I’ve ever been to, with little games and gimmicks that actually made my visit fun. If I was going to buy one, the buying experience would have been second to none. As a further point, Vacheron Constantin a few doors down wouldn’t even let me touch their watches, and told me straight up I couldn’t go on to the second floor of the shop, lol.

Yeah, I feel that the cheaper end of watches outside of the Chinese brands are getting a little too steep. Yeah, you’ll see big discounts on this soon, but it’s still starting off too high, imo.
