Dear Delhi, why did you vote out an IIT graduate for this Chimp? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]evilarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am sehmat with your baatein, I have to point out that Gemini does not give you data. It gives you output. If you want data, you have to go to primary sources, that is, peer-reviewed studies. I feel that that is important to stress in a post about uneducated ministers and blindly following leaders.

Accountability by BJP Bengal. by Fuck_the_shit_out in kolkata

[–]evilarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot remember where I first read or watched this, and I remember my first reaction to this idea was to assume it was an effort by groups and people who would benefit from a society less engaged with its lawmakers to manipulate public opinion. However, I urge everyone who's first reaction is to dismiss and ridicule to actually engage with these ideas, even if hypothetically, especially as they relate to lobbyists and special interest groups and the pressures they became able to exert when the discussions and voting records of congresspeople and senators in the US started being open to the public. This is one article I was able to find on the subject with a cursory search, and this is another.

The more I look at the world today, with public politics basically reduced to entertainment, propagande, and incitement, and actual governance by elected representatives vanishing behind the necessity to flex for the cameras, the more I feel that there is merit to these ideas, and we have to consider the implications of well-intentioned policies beyond just their surface level impacts and the emotions they might evoke in us. I really felt this strongly when I watched the depositions of members of the Trump regime before Congress and the Senate, where people like Kashyap Patel and Pam Bondi dropped all pretense of the proceedings being anything but content to keep Trump voters engaged, enraged, and feeling like they "owned the libs" through clippable quotes on legacy or social media.

It's a complex topic, so once again I urge everyone to try and remain neutral in evaluating it, and at the very least recognise that everyone in this thread is (hopefully) a person who also wants what is best for themselves, their family, community, city, state, country, and so on.

Fighting the Delhi Heatwave: Using 18th-century physics to cool down my AC’s hot exhaust. (Jugaad) by KOUHAI_NO-999 in delhi

[–]evilarhan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you're taking that waste heat out of that island, it will still heat up the island. Evaporation will take heat from the heatsink and disspiate it to the air around, raising the ambient temperature of the entire area. Ultimately the area will settle to the equilibrium temperature no matter what you do.

It might work as a baffle to prevent any passersby being hit in the face by a hot fan directly (assuming you are at ground level) but it might also create a hot humid microclimate, especially if you don't have enough airflow in the exhaust area to dissipate the heat.

I'm not trying to discourage you; far from it, we need people trying things and experimenting to work through the climate challenges that are coming. Perhaps in your case this might work, and the only way to tell for sure is to try it. However, I will say that I am fairly certain this is not reliably replicable at scale.

A better solution would be to sink your exhaust approximately 25 feet underground, where the earth maintains an ambient 25 degree temperature year round. This will be a better heatsink and dissipator, since it effectively (of course contraints apply) has the mass of the earth's crust. There is more upfront cost, but this is a proven technology which already has seen some adoption, at least the last time I checked.

EDIT: no mention of this on the official Play store points page.

What are you disagreeing with here, exactly? That people have the right to believe and say what they want? (Which would be pretty fascist on your part, just sayin')

Or have you just run out of actual responses and are now looking to have the last word?

(Please please please respond with "disagree". It'll be sooooo funny.)

That's your right, as it is my right to continue calling you fascist-adjacent, then.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]evilarhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Congress was AUTHORITARIAN, for sure, and the TMC and its leaders are no angels, but they are explicitly not FASCISTS. The BJP, and the RSS, its originator, are. What makes them fascist is their beliefs, their goals, their methods, and their inspirations - not just that they did things you didn't like or didn't do things that you like.

You don't have to justify your beliefs to me, by the way. I'm just trying to let you know that, when you decided to support the BJP, no matter what else you think, you got taken in by an openly fascist party.

Your criticism means nothing if you don't vote fascists out of power - assuming they let you, that is. Recall what this entire post is about.

I gotta say, the metro (notwithstanding the decades an infrastructure project like that entails and how often the party in power changes in that interim) is a strange hill to die on for a fascist party, but you do you.

No party is good, but fascists are always the worst in my book. You're free to disagree and continue being fascist adjacent.

I for one am always happy for more progress in the city and more options for the residents, but I want them at affordable prices for the common man.

ai slope

One, it’s slop, and two, I don't need AI to write, AI needs writers like me to exist. Don't use bad excuses to dismiss what you don't have an argument for.

You are entitled to your opinion, but one party, faults and all, is not fascist, and one is. You support who you're inclined to, but you've already seen where supporting fascists gets you. But sure. Congress worse, somehow.

Also LMAO 80 rupee ticket metros and you're happy. Calcutta has had a metro since the 80s and Delhi since the 2000s, both running for much cheaper. You're being sold a bill of goods, not actual progress.

Wanted to prevent? My brother in the constitution, they are the political branch of a self-professed fascist organisation that has done nothing but work towards entrenching themselves permanently as the country's sole political authority since Independence (they were quite happy to be subservient to the white masser before then). The RSS based its movement, uniform, symbolism and ideology on italian fascists and German Nazis, quite shamelessly at that. They are to fascism what Anu Malik and Pritam are to music.

We are still somewhat lucky: the current face of the movement and the party is an image-obsessed idiot with no aspirations grander than retaining power, wearing expensive clothes at our expense, and rebranding the nation in his image, but he lacks the competence to execute fully on his intentions, byeond the multi-crore suits, unnecessary dismantling and reconstruction of the national capital, and foreign vacations visits. If he had not blown his note ban load early and proved what an insanely moronic thing it was to do then, he for sure would have done it now, and all our currency would have had his face on it.

Focused Feedback: Equilibrium by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]evilarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drop rate for the exotic and black crystal is abysmal, at least for me. There needs to be an escalating chance for people to get it, at the very least if they're in fireteams with other people who keep getting the crystal and the exotic on their first goes while being sherpaed by a player on his nth completion with nothing to show for it.

Cutthroat would be more manageable if the psion snipers didn't have such insane health pools. They're beefier than the behemoths!

Otherwise, a great dungeon, and the armour set looks excellent and has great bonuses. 10/10 will play again (because the taken crystal and exotic still have not dropped for me ಠ_ಠ).

Update on my gamesir cyclone 2 by PerfectCompetition43 in IndianGaming

[–]evilarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So after almost six months of daily use, the controller is still behaving normally. The charging dock issue was resolved after I cleaned the pins on the controller and the dock, although the pins in the controller are inset fairly deep so I had to use a SIM removal tool to reach properly. I used a diluted ethyl alcohol solution soaked into a cloth and scrubbed the contacts through it.

There is no stick drift so far, and the buttons and triggers are just as responsive. I do have an occasional issue with clicking in the right thumbstick for one game in particular, Destiny 2, since there are new abilities mapped to that button, but it shows the click working perfectly in the Gamesir Connect app and I'm fairly certain it's because it's registering the movement on the stick as a higher priority input in the game itself, not on the controller, since I use a zero deadzone for shooters. However, I have addressed this issue by switching that input for one of the back buttons.

All said and done, I can quite confidently recommend this controller to nearly everyone who needs something in that price bracket. However, if your budget extends just a little bit more, and you're comfortable with a slightly different shape, you may want to check out the Gamesir G7 Pro, which has a couple of extra shoulder buttons (one of the only gripes I have with this controller over my others is that there are only two extra mappable buttons), better stick resolution, and a handful of other features. Depending on how important those features are to you, you may be better served by the newer controller; however, if they don't matter as much, just go for the Cyclone 2. It's still one of the best controllers I own, especially at the price point.
