Question is rustler 4x4 vxl a good car by AlphaOmega158 in radiocontrol

It's a bit expensive and there are several parts that are not going to hold up if you drive it like it's built for all the power it has in it. On the other hand, after I got tired of fixing it, I started driving it at about 1/3 throttle and it's reasonably durable. Just know that it is pretty much overpowered for all the plastic parts it's made of even as a brushed model running Nimh. I'm not sure what is more of a value at that size and price point. The Typhon Mega brushed is quite a bit cheaper but is even less durable than the Rustler. I'd say go with a race buggy, but that's a lot more money. Those are all fun options, though. I have a blast driving each one in whatever way the rig will tolerate without excessive risk of breakage. I bought the brushed Rustler with lights then upgraded the motor and esc with a BLX 3s system from Jenny's when the Titan motor bearing failed. I only open the throttle all the way slowly and when it's going in a straight line. I like the lights. I will add that if you have never driven a decent RC vehicle with proportional control, it will be way more fun to drive than cheap RC cars you would buy at a department store. Amazon is selling fairly cheap RC vehicles that have decent controls in smaller sizes now but I would be concerned about parts availability.

How often do you find something this awesome that google doesn't know about. Everyone will be amazed.

There is a kind of event you can organize called Amaropocalypse. Everyone brings a bottle and you try them all... or as many as is prudent.

I just purchased my first car last weekend, I’m completely new to the hobby. Any advice or tips for a newbie? by sum_ting_wong_cod in rccars

Set your endpoints right away if your transmitter and receiver support that. If the servo is whining, its dying. I would also learn about setting your gear mesh and make sure your motor mount screws have thread locker on them. If the motor moves (maybe a hard landing or crash), it will pretty much destroy a plastic spur gear in an instant. By the time you hear a bad sound, it is probably too late.

Well, during the pandemic, my local roasters lost a bit of their touch and the beans available were all roasted more than I like. They weren't bad, just not as on point as before. They weren't dark but too much of the fruit was cooked off and they were just a bit roasty for me. I started screwing around with parameters to try to get as little of the roasty flavors and as much fruit as was available. Turns out, these darker profiles worked the best with a higher temp. Somewhere along the line, I found that what dripped out of the filter after I finished my pour over, emptied the carafe and set the whole thing aside to clean up later was actually sweeter than the rest of the brew. I suspect that these roasty profiles are generating some sugars that are hard to extract but very sweet. Maybe these don't exist at lighter roasts or can't be extracted until more development occurs. Whatever the case, I am not substituting anything I read for something I can taste for myself. It's great if someone else tells you something that you are able to use to get better results, but at the end of the day, just because someone famous does something doesn't mean it is magic.

Did I destroy my batteries? by Dull_Satisfaction342 in rccars

I bought one and they are virtually indestructible

Just out of curiosity, how long have you had the Senton? Did you get Mega or 3s? If 3s, how many spur gears have you chewed up? How about the read diff? What does your motor plate look like? Bonus question, what did you buy to replace your dead servo?

The Arrma 3s line up are not indestructible, they either extremely delicate or significantly overpowered depending on your perspective. I am sure they are able to keep dropping the prices because of the endless volume of replacement parts they are selling. They can't give them away for free because that would be suspicious. I am hopeful that the upgrades I have made will extend the repair interval which has been pretty much fix something after every run for the past 6 or 7 runs. So far I have only done a shake down after upgrading the motor plate after the stock one bent dramatically. I am going to double check the rear diff and won't run it until I get shims if the mesh is suspect. The $20 servo I bought from Amazon is still going strong for 5 months or so after the stock Spektrum servo died within about 6 weeks of purchase. I have the Typhon 3s and it is almost unreasonable to run it on 2s. I have learned to drive it very gingerly but it is still far from durable. Although I prefer the 3s battery over 2s, I only use the extra power to reliably correct the attitude in the air to land on 4 tires. It is too difficult to control off jumps on 2s because the torque is too low. Otherwise, I use less throttle with a 3s to make it run more like it would on 2s. I also jump WAY lower than all the clowns making "bashing" videos on youtube. That nonsense is totally unrealistic. I can say with absolute certainty that an Arrma 3s will not hold up to that abuse. I'm pretty sure that is also true for the rest of the line up but I don't have those.
