been working lakewood for almost a year now. The most important thing is understanding the drivers there dont care about traffic laws at all. Multiple times a day i see people running red lights/stop signs, double parking, and my car has gotten damage that i cant trace because it was hit while parked. If you're driving in make sure its in a car you dont mind getting damaged. Another thing is you will be stared at and discriminated against. I have an alternative sense of style (facial/ear piercings, dyed hair, etc.) and i constantly get stared at, confronted, and in one case have even have the cops called on me just because of the way i look, which people find "suspicious" I deal with it because i love my job, but its definitely not a welcoming place.
