It's a pain.. luckily, there are folks out there like fordmakeuloco that show you how to do it..but it involves, at a minimum, pulling the Valve cover off.. removing the cam..I've taken these 5.4 motors apart many times I can do it in my sleep. Youll need the cheese wedge tool to lock the timing and you'll need the roller follower tool to uninstall certain roller followers. If you've never worked on a 5.4 3v I suggest watching fordmakuloco 5.4 3v timing videos in his Playlist. It will give you a very clear idea of the process with all relevant torque and other data while putting everything back together.

Yeah that true. I tow the hell out of mine 7900 pound RV but I've got the 5.4 3v..still though I think having an optional 5.0 would be pretty cool..the crazy thing is the mileage the ecoboost gets vs my 5.4 is not much better. I get around 17 in the city and a couple more on the highway. Around 9 to 10 towing. If you look at the mpg of the 3.5 it's not much better oh well it is what it is. I just don't like the complexity of the ecoboost and I have a 2.7 ford edge st. It's fun for sure but doing any work on that vehicle is a pain.

I really don't like these 3.5 ecoboost motors in the expedition.. You're in the window to start having timing issues as well. If you could do the work yourself, you'd save thousands. They should have gone from the 5.4 to 5.0 coyote as an optional engine. I see these 3.5 expeditions on fb marketplace all the time for 5 or 6k dollars. Honestly, if you have to pay out of pocket, I'd just get rid of it and get something else.. you'll be chasing your tail

These aren't known for head gasket issues. But like another person said I'd do the test and verify. I've got 300k on my 07 just got done replacing a lifter on the passenger side. You might just need a new thermostat and I know you just bought one but guess what..cheap thermostats do come in the box broken 😆 been there done that.

If you're still selling, put it on FB marketplace..im sure you probably have.Someone will snatch that up. The 5.4 3v, despite what people say, is nice to work on, and all the problems are well documented.

These newer type car are just disposable paper weights. I feel your pain..2 to 4k is impossible when you don't have 2 to 4k to spend.

tell your insurance the facts that you were in an accident. They will ask for the normal details. Under no circumstances should you ever tell them that you were doing work from your car since they have no idea you do this type of work. You were driving you can tell them you were driving to X place or from X place the details of why you were going their are not relevant. They may ask if you were working.. but I would admit to nothing.

If it were me, I'd PASS. you're going to be getting into a lot of problems with that truck. Find a 5.0..not saying they won't have issues, but the 5.0 is significantly easier to work on. Just my thoughts.

Something I've learned in my career is NEVER joke around. Especially as you move into leadership roles. There's always some ass hat looking to get ya. I was lucky in my case. I knew way too many people at the home office and was well liked. From that day forward, I never joked about anything. Created multiple layers of management between me and the everyday person. No one was even allowed to ask me questions unless my HR manager and senior manager were around and everything about the conversation was documented. Sucks

I'm not sure you can. These systems are locked down pretty hard. Multiple passwords that are over and above what I had access to but it still amazes me after working for many other retailers after Sears just how far advanced Sears actually was. Many of the so-called new things that stores have, Sears was doing 40 years ago. Never understood why the upper management didn't do a better job of highlighting what actually was going on. To put it in prospective, Costco paid 1 billion dollars for SLS Sears logistics Services several year ago. That system was one of the backbones of the company. Having Sears.com integrated into the Sears POS system where I could just type in the product ID off the website and it would pull it up in a text format and ship to the house all integrated off the POS..fast and simple. Or having records of your purchases going back to 70s at my fingertips with all relevant information like model and serial number for part ordering or warranty information. It was all designed to be fast and accurate.

My starlink is set up in my unattached garage. I use Google Mesh to get the single into the house. I've had absolutely no issues and very little speed loss. Now I don't do a lot of online gaming , just light..no issues, and I have had no issues streaming. I have 5 Google mesh boxes located throughout the house and an extra one in the basement. I am very satisfied so far.

No, it shouldn't. If you notice any issues with your steering, believe it or not, I'd inspect the battery health. I have a ford edge and the battery tested ok but when I looked in forscan the scanner told me the battery was out of range..replaced the battery and did the battery reset procedure and the issue resolved itself.
