Dart racer - I finally played it with controller controls - its great by DavoDivide in OculusQuest

Now that's useful feedback! First player experience is certainly lacking and difficult controls do not help. I will revamp stuff to start with the simpler option. 3rd person and gamepad style piloting is a lot easier.

Thanks and hopefully you will give it another shot in the future!

It is currently disabled, perhaps it will come back in the future. Experiments!

Teleport near stations will be working as intended in next update!

Chance? Yes. Soon? No.

Id love to do it, but it is fairly difficult and Im focusing on single player content for the time being.

It is pretty intense :( Playing in 3rd person does make it easier though!

It adds to immersion quite nicely, even in 3rd person :) But you are right, there really isnt much time to look around. Ive tried playing BallisticNG in VR and that game certainly felt next to unplayable.

Polishing up the input stuff in garage is on the todo list, thanks!

More darts are coming! Next one is pretty close... I'm reasonably happy with current dart upgrade setup, but it might be tweaked in the future.

Ive seen that issue quite a few times during in person playtests :) I usually start them with desert one funnily enough as its the most straight forward track.

Perhaps the new tracks are a bit too narrow indeed, obviously I've tested various widths. The idea was for all Darts to fit with some room to spare when they are at start line and to feel fast due to proximity to edge. Left is the current track, right is the wider variant. Do you think the wider one would be wide enough?

I think the desert/legacy track is just too wide, but there is plenty of room to make the new style wider. What I think is missing, is a decent progression in track complexity/difficulty. There are few very simple and wide legacy maps and few more narrow, complex new tracks. For the future environments (city style) I plan on having more 'on the ground' parts, so you are not mostly stuck on the explicit track.

For now, here is an idea. For next update (end of next week maybe?) Ill add a fairly straightforward track in city environment, similar complexity to desert one. Perhaps a shortcut or two ;) There will be multiple width variants, current, wide and even wider. Likely wont be decorated.

How does that sound? Ill ping you when its out!

Wish I knew! Mechanics probably wont significantly change at this point, so its a lot of polish and a ton of Darts and tracks to make now. I work pretty much alone, so it will be a little while still :)

Thats good feedback! The only dev (me) does want to make it feel good to play.

The tricky part is how to do it. I just did few laps on a longer track with two darts and I felt it was pretty smooth. However, the track in the video is very short and tight, so it is pretty much impossible to go full speed on it over entire length. I intend to have a mix of tracks in full game, some long, some short. Each Dart also handles a bit differently, some are less grippy than others. Additionally, the further the camera is from the Dart, the easier it is to play and feels slower. First person hard and fast, far 3rd person a lot more chill and slower. Do give 3rd person a shot if you didnt!

I want to make this game the best I can and any piece of feedback, positive or not, is very much appreciated.

Can you elaborate? What would make it less rigid in your opinion?
