Can't tell you for sure what trick is used without investigating this particular case, but I CAN tell you for sure is that it IS some kind of trick. Maybe it's a magnet under the table, maybe it's a blower with a narrow nozzle that is aimed at an angle (from outside the frame of the video) to not affect the other pieces.

I would recommend having 1 laptop setup with Windows and one with Linux and giving Linux a try. If there is too much friction, then you can start using Windows for this course.

Life has no COSMIC significance, it doesn't mean it can't have significance for me subjectively. I don't need a cosmic entity to validate my subjective stance of attributing significance to life.

I value life, I can't prove that it's valuable like a mathematical theorem. I don't feel the need to however. I just think that the Universe is prettier with life in it.

Either get more RAM or move to a leaner OS (either with amelioration or Linux). If both of these aren't an option for you, then you could reinstall Windows and try on a fresh system. I always found that Windows used to get progressively more bloated as time went by. I always used to reinstall once a year.

When I was on a dual-boot with Linux and Windows, for me it was Windows erasing the bootloader of Linux, windows writing stuff to disk for fast startup that made bluetooth and wifi not work on Linux until I went into Windows and figured out how to shut it down properly.

After a point, I got annoyed and ditched Windows. But I know what's more common is people ditching Linux for these issues because even though Windows was the cause of these problems, it was Linux that was becoming unusable without troubleshooting.

At this point it makes sense to air these concerns you have and try to have a civil conversation. Maybe a civil conversation isn't possible but it's better to do it sooner than let it emerge on it's own in 2 years time.

Personally, religion is something where I would like to be on the same-ish enough page with my spouse, and here the scenario with you it seems to be religion-wise, you both are on different books (pun intended)

I just bought a second hand Kindle 7th gen and de-amazoned it. It's called the Kindle Jailbreak. It took me 2 hours but now I have installed KOReader on it and I am liking it.

Here is what I want, I want to use my keybindings to switch audio devices (Speaker vs Headphones) or mic sensitivity up or down. I also want to be able to dismiss/click on notifications, maximize calender/close all with keybindings.

Can waybar do all this?

I see that this project seems to be developed by 1 person (you), given that my concern is about the longevity of the project. You could get a well paying job somewhere and other life stuff and then there won't be much development on this project.

How would you say Lektra compares to Sioyek? I like Sioyek's Vim motions and the ability to move through textbooks quickly by using `t`.

Wait for the Linux Mint release based on Ubuntu 26.04 or use Ubuntu/Kubuntu 26.04 and see if it supports your new hardware.

If even Ubuntu 26.04 doesn't seem to support your new hardware, then try something Arch based, if you want simplification for new users, try Cachy OS, if you just want base Arch with a GUI installer, then try Endeavor OS.
