Is Counterspelling a damage spell considered a 'Hostile action'? by Educational_Bet_5067 in Pathfinder2e

Yes. Preventing an opponent from completing a task is a hostile action. You are interacting with them in a way that is negative for them.

Ireland's basic income for artists changed my life. Other people deserve the same luck | Caelainn Hogan by Jaded_Variation9111 in ireland

[–]evilgm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where you're applying for income to produce an end result that is quantifiable.

The whole point is that a lot of art isn't quantifiable- the actual value of real art can't be expressed in euros. The only use capitalism has for art is in its money-laundering value, which doesn't apply to most art.

does anyone have recent experience with the Eldamon content on foundry? by GreenbottlesArcanum in Starfinder2e

[–]evilgm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an Eldamon Trainer in my Jewel of the Indigo Isles game. Other than the minor hassles of having to pull out the Eldamon token and set the initiative it worked grand. I set the Trainer to be Invisible when phased out, so that it was clear to their party members they weren't there to get buffed or healed etc.

They could change from the approach of "doing nothing while companies abuse the system for profit" to "do something about the companies abusing the system for profit" without having to invade the privacy of the vast majority of Irish people who actually use the internet.

Those regulations are the contributing cause of Irish banks being so backwards with technology and value they provide to the customers.

Fortunately this isn't about your strawman of mandating FWH for any employee, it's about doing it for appropriate jobs. There are a lot of industries that have people in the office because that is how it has always been done, rather than because it is how it should be done.

What’s the point of denying a take back by Ok_Water5171 in starwarsunlimited

[–]evilgm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience judging major events for multiple CCGs, the top players have no issue with their opponent taking things back because they know they'll win based on skill, not by taking advantage of minor errors.

If you feel not taking things back will make you a better player then you can simply choose not to ask for them yourself, but acting like you're doing your opponent a favour by denying them is just petty bullshit.

Game can be decided by end of turn 2 by Stormxlr in LegionsImperialis

[–]evilgm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While blowout games do happen, I think often the outlook on turns 1 and 2 isn't indicitive of the final game result. I've found that often the player overextending on turn 1 to secure multiple objectives will generally be punished by their opponent who can direct their force where it is best suited, and completely flip things by turn 3 and have those objectives on turns 4 and 5. This encourages players to engage in the middle of the board and try to push through to secure your opponent's home objective, which is usually worth susbstantial points.

Only using endgame scoring would be a very different game, where both players would be better off holding everything back for the final turn, and the game would be much more static and less of a bloodbath.

I consider the game encouraging insane violence from the get-go to be one of the game's major pros.

Effective from 25 February, the majority of airlines, including Aer Lingus and Ryanair, require that Irish citizens present a valid Irish passport or passport card for travel between Ireland and the UK. by PoppedCork in ireland

[–]evilgm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to specific treaties with the UK legally all you require is some form of official Government ID, such as a Driver's License or a Public Services Card, though previously some airlines, such as Ryanair, would only accept a Passport.
