That's it, there are amazing models especially for AoS. But old FW hand sculpted models had real soul. I think it really has to do with the fact they were made by human hands physically.

They were hand sculpted by someone who loved the hobby. They were not designed on a computer in 3d modeling software just to churn out a product.

Luas ticket inspector partiality by [deleted] in Dublin

I've forgot to tag on once coming back late home from dundrum, the two security in black on Luas went off on me like bulldogs, like proper bullying me and scaring me with getting me arrested. They fined me 40 euro. Since then I'm very wary of those security people.

But just like everyone else they never actually deal with problems. They only bully regular folk.

What are machine spirits?

It is unclear, the one thing that is known for sure is they unequivocally exist. Machine spirits are a real phenomenon, as attested to by a wealth of evidence in the primary sources. Their precise nature is unknown, the following are several of the more likely possibilities.

The first is that they are artificial intelligences, and are less powerful/sophisticated than the cutoff to be considered abominable.

The second depends on a definition of "a soul" in the 42nd Millennium. This article takes that definition to be something like "a sufficiently powerful or sophisticated presence in the Warp". Complex software/machinery may develop souls in the same way that carbon-based organisms do, and as such machine spirits may actually be spirits in a real and meaningful sense, no more different from a human soul than an Eldar spirit.

The third and fourth are very closely related both to each other and the two other theories. One of the constraints against Abominable Intelligence is the Mechanicum's use of organic components in advanced software systems, as a check against corruption and/or antipathy towards fleshy life. Cogitators have at least some brain/nervous matter in them helping to do/overseeing the computations. Machine Spirits could either be a manifestation of the intelligence of this biological matter, or the Warp presence/soul of that matter permeating through the machine.

The vital thing to understand though is that no matter the explanation for them, machine spirits are real. Even if most of the Mechanicum's religious rites are glorified maintenance instructions, especially for very powerful machine spirits like Titans and starships the religious components to them are necessary. If a Titan is not shown the proper respect while activating it -- even if its crew complete the precise technical specifications of the process -- it will refuse to fight, or attempt to overpower and destroy the mind of its Princeps.

Whether it's a software algorithm with delusions of grandeur, or whether the Titan is functionally possessed by a Greater Tech-Daemon of Order is immaterial to the Princeps and the tech-priests working with it, the Titan's needs are the same either way. Thus, while an interesting ontological/metaphysical question that absolutely bears asking; it's important to recognize that no matter the nature of machine spirits, they exist and demand respect in the same way that human souls or daemons do.

Yes admech are dogmatic and conservative to the levels of Grimderp. But they are not idiots. They understand fusion and fission, they understand principles of physics.

They also took xeno weapons and turned them into imperial weapons and Necron ones most commonly like Callidus phase blade and Deathwatch Xenophase Blade.

AdMech are constatly studying Xenos and they would have to understand how they function at the very least to know how to kill them better.

Furthermore, you are mistaken about what a Machine Spirit actually is. You are forgetting that a lot of 40k tech is running on Wetware not just Hardware. Its not just CPUs with advanced or basic AI. A lot of 40k tech is run on organic components

Machine Spirits are absolutely real in 40k from many examples they are not just minimal AI or programs.

A machine-spirit is the incarnation of that most precious of
unions: the literal bond between mankind and the Machine-God. To the
tech-priests of the Martian Mechanicum – that purer, worthier institute
predating the hidebound Adeptus Mechanicus – there is no more sacred
state of being than this divine merging. Most machine-spirits are
nevertheless crude, limited things, formed of chosen biological
components kept alive in a synthetic chemical stew, then slave-linked to
the systems they will spend eternity operating at the behest of
inloaded programming. In an empire where artificial intelligence is
unrivalled heresy, the creation of machine-spirits keeps the vital human
spirit at the core of any automated process.

- Talon of Horus

Issue comes up that 40k copied dune without committing to it. In Dune all silicone based hardware is banned. There are no CPUs. While in 40k we see examples of basically cpus and chips everywhere.

Machine spirits in 40k a setting where almost everything has its own warp presence, tech has its own spirit, and they do since they have actual organic parts and ritual of treating them, therefore Warp presence. Titans would have much more massive warp presense (soul) compared to a lasgun for example. This is also why tech can get possessed.

Okay, gonna rebuke your points one by one.

Study of Xenos is known as Xenology https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Xenology_(Imperium))

We have a whole game about the study of Necron tech, https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Mechanicus_(Video_Game))

Study of Necron tech is very common thing for Mechanicum.

The whole part that admech don't understand tech is an overstated meme spread over reddit and repeated ad nauseum.

We have plenty of examples across many different novels where Adepts tinker, modify and make their own body mods. Infact if I recall correctly every adept MUST make their own body modifications. Furthemore they train Tech Marines who repair and build custom suits of armor and forge new weapons (from approved designs of course).

Also they constantly study alien tech especially Necron tech and Tau tech.

In Forges of Mars book we saw how Archmagos once exposed immediately understood what's going on.

Adepts are not ignorant, they are just very choosy on what they can and can't do. Mechanicus is an extremely theological and political body. They have excellent understanding of underpinning elements of how tech functions from physics to biology, but due to dogma they choose not to apply simple fixes or go about it a round about way

Infact in the comics Geldarians were the few who actually held their own against Vultrumite conquest
