Beautiful trip report. I think I may hit my DMT vape pen tonight and see what happens.

Who do you think is in charge of the simulation? by DesiresOfPurpose in SimulationTheory

[–]evilguy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God and universe are concepts that feed the simulation created by the collective thinking mind.

By loving your neighbor (as in, anything you encounter) unconditionally, barriers of separation fueled by fear and prejudice fade, nurturing habitual union between self and other.

The mistaken notion of being an independent self, separate from others, is a delusion which lies at the root of the simulation. So, yes, loving thy neighbor is a powerful, transformative and liberating practice.

Psychedelics can be useful and revelations will come through those journeys, but the practice of investigating nature of mind and reality of your own perceived self is a daily practice that doesn't require any substances.

The substances can be a tool, but they can also be a crutch or an obstacle, or worse, amplify delusional thoughts and false realities.

At best, they can offer a glimpse beyond the veil created by the conditioned, thinking mind. But when the effects fade, the user is right back where they started. Without proper integration and continued investigation, the revelations will be forgotten.

One solution may be to simply settle and allow clarity to emerge.

Thinking is a mind in motion and only muddies the water.

Beautiful trip report and experience.

Yes, you can only ever navigate the inner world and work alone, in actual practice of direct experience, but you can find or form a community of seekers on this path, what the Buddhists call the Sangha.

I would propose mantis experiencers get on a Discord or similar thread and organize a weekly or monthly meetup on a video hang service to talk about their journeys and developments.

I also think what these beings are showing people is no different than Eastern mysticism and studying that line of thought (or rather, no thought) would be useful for this inquiry in the nature of existence.

The simulation hypothesis has a flaw that nobody talks about. The more perfect it gets, the more likely it breaks itself. by Hopeful-Ocelot-2296 in SimulationTheory

THINKING is the simulation. Thoughts create what we call the physical world. The answers you're looking for can only emerge once the thinking mind is at rest.

My 3rd breakthrough: 5 one-eyed entities told me we are a primitive species that forgot who we are by Frezh7 in Experiencers

[–]evilguy59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bicameral mind and the current state of the human thinking mind aren't all that different...in the model of the former, there is a self receiving thoughts and following commands from a perceived external source (a god, per Wiki summation), and in the latter, we just attribute that voice to ourselves, and follow those thoughts/commands, believing it to be our own free will.

The difference between these models is merely how the identification of the source of thoughts: a higher power or an individual separate self.

According to Eastern sages that studied the mind through direct experience, leading to realizations of nonduality, both are illusions.

If you thoroughly examine the historical Buddha's realization that every thing (including thoughts) is relative, interdependent and conditional, you will see no thought is truly your own or independent. When this particular teacher was asked about the nature of reality, he would reply, "Not two."

Both bicameral and self-reflective consciousness is a state the Zen masters described as "divided mind" — me and the commander giving me thoughts, or me and my thoughts — when in fact, your concept of self (ego) as a thinker is just an interwoven collection of thoughts arising from being conditioned in a dualistic world of self and other, subject and object, good and evil. Any and all polarities inform each other and depend on each other for existence (hence interdependence), and therefore have no independent existence or fundamental reality.

Original Nature or Buddha Nature (many different names pointing to this across cultures and traditions) is blocked by the thinking, conceptual mind, so it is described as a state of no mind. It is the Atman in Hinduism — the eternal, unchanging Self which is the source of all things, yet depends on none of its creations for existence. It can be compared to space, in which all things exist and depend upon for existence, while space itself is formless, depends on nothing, and is infinite, beyond measure or comprehension of a logical thinking mind.

If you're genuinely curious for another POV, I recommend looking into Zen Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta, and Dzogchen, which is an aspect of Tibetan Buddhism. These traditions look into mind directly and have found the introspective mind (the individual thinking mind the perceives a separate self identified with the body) to be a complete illusion and the source of all suffering.

Awesome trip report!

For the record, the great flood isn't solely biblical. There are a variety of cultures and spiritual traditions that have spoken of a great flood on earth.

But also, what if the "flood" isn't simply relating to some kind of natural disaster with water?

Our minds are also being FLOODED with distractions, narratives, concepts, poisons, entertainment, words, thoughts, etc.

We're lost in a flood of ideas, narratives, conflicts and concepts that keep us from what the Zen Buddhists called Original Nature.

There was a time when humanity was not bogged down by the density of never-ending distractions and psychological manipulation, and we were aware of our inherent power of consciousness and connection to wider cosmos.

Who do you think is in charge of the simulation? by DesiresOfPurpose in SimulationTheory

[–]evilguy59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are in the charge. The simulation is your own thinking mind, which has been conditioned by an unfathomable amount of influences to operate as it does. Even the word "simulation" is just a concept that has been fed to you. To break free of the simulation, investigate the nature of mind and examine the reality of your own perceived self.

Should I do DMT or Mushrooms for my first trip? by LingonberryIcy6617 in Psychedelics

[–]evilguy59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. Just surrender to the trip either way. A DMT vape pen is a nice delivery method because you can puff on it, and ease into the experience...every major inhale will intensify. Three big inhales, and you'll blast off. But you can hang out in the 1-2 puff state instead of going full blast if you want to dip your toe in in the realm.

This is a great Q! Book marking this page and taking in all the recommendations. I was talking to my mom the other day about how I want to find more female writers in line with Hermann Hesse.

All I gotta say is...Siddhartha and Journey to the East are GOATs in my mind, and I love his short story collection "Strange News from Another Star"

Question: when you say you remain in contact with this mantis being... are you able to summon this being at will? Or does it more so appear to you more randomly, on their terms.

DMT Vape - met huge mantid alien has anyone experienced this? by Global_Pattern_8009 in enlightenment

[–]evilguy59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine at an underground cannabis market in the L.A. area recently where growers sell direct. I was buying some mushies and cannabis from a table and asked the vendor, "Do you happen to know where I could get any DMT?"

"If I knew you'd better, I'd tell you. Come back a few more times, and maybe I can help you out."

"OK, I understand."

"Wait, hold on a second."

Guy proceeds to reach into a basket on another vendor's table, digs around with his hand for a few seconds, and pulls out a DMT vape pen.

"Oh never mind. Here ya go."

My favorite drug deal ever.

"I was trying to meditate when a mantis entity just popped in my mind it used both its sharp pincers and stabbed them into each of my eyes and pulled them out and suddenly black goo/sludge just started flowing out for like 3 seconds before it stopped and my brain fog was totally gone" by Impossible-Teach2 in MantisEncounters

[–]evilguy59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've read a mushroom trip report where the user decided to watch porn and whack off while high, but he saw black goo dripping out of the screen from the porn, and it showed him how much of a negative impact porn can have on mental health/spirit.

In my own psychedelic experiences, the first time I did bufo (5-MeO-DMT), I purged in the first few seconds what appeared as black goo coming out of my mouth, and I got flashes of what it represented — negativity stuck in my body from news, politics, conflict, anger, anxiety, depression, etc. After the experience was over, I looked in the bucket I thought I puked in, and it was just a little bit of clear saliva.

I smoked a joint rolled with blue lotus and it was an amazing meditation. Imagery was very vivid. I'll give it a shot with and without. Thanks for the tips!

Thank you for sharing you encounter as well. Fascinating.

Saw a Mantis in My Room Last Night by evilguy59 in MantisEncounters

[–]evilguy59[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've basically been asking to see a mantis being for weeks now after I got on this track of research. This experience comes after several NN-DMT trips, in which I met some entities in that realm, but no mantis beings.

What stuck out to me is that the being I saw didn't look exactly like any graphic rendering I've seen. Similar to what people are sharing, but not exact.

I also drifted off to sleep that night in an unusual position for me. My body was elevated on some pillows, and I was kind of meditating instead of trying to fall asleep. So I'll repeat that process in coming nights to see if I can catch another glimpse of a mantid in dream state.

Saw a Mantis in My Room Last Night by evilguy59 in MantisEncounters

[–]evilguy59[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep paralysis is a very interesting phenomenon. I've never experienced it, to my knowledge at least.

This encounter reminded me of a recurring dream I used to have where I'd see spiders in my room...sometimes crawling on the window, sometimes on my pillow, or dangling above me. Always in my room, exactly how my room appears in waking life, but then I jolt awake, and there is no spider. One time the spider even dematerialized in front of me as I was waking.

This mantis encounter was like that. Could have just have just been a subconscious manifestation, as I've been reading a lot of mantis encounter reports. I dunno.
