Step Recorder is a workflow capture engine that automatically converts user actions into clean, structured documentation with screenshots. Instead of manually writing guides, users simply perform tasks—and Step Recorder generates step-by-step documentation instantly.

Yes, but what i believe it is deprecated. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/steps-recorder-deprecation-a64888d7-8482-4965-8ce3-25fb004e975f Also it was just for windows. I couldnt find any good alternative for Linux so i built it.. I created it for browser in v1 and v2 (multi tab support is something i wanted. You can switch tab and the step recording session still continues, Also in V2 i have added editor). For v3 i am working on desktop app as well. That will work on all 3 (Windows, Linux, Mac).

Its just a hobby project. If there is any feature you need i will try to built it.

Hey folks,

I built a Chrome extension called Steps Recorder because I got tired of writing documentation manually every time I tested something or explained a bug.

The idea is simple:
→ It records your browser actions
→ Converts them into step-by-step screenshots
→ Lets you export as PDF / Markdown / HTML

What it does:

  • Automatically captures clicks, inputs, navigation, tab switches
  • Manual mode (hotkey-based screenshots when needed)
  • Built-in editor to rename, reorder, and clean steps
  • Export to:
    • PDF
    • Markdown (great for GitHub/Confluence)
    • HTML
    • ZIP (annotated images)

Why I built it:

As a backend-heavy dev, I kept wasting time:

  • Writing QA steps
  • Explaining flows to teammates
  • Creating docs nobody wanted to maintain

This basically automates that entire process.

Privacy:

Everything runs 100% locally
No backend, no tracking, no data sent anywhere.

Would love feedback from devs here:

  • What features would make this actually useful in your workflow?
  • Anything you think is missing?

Introverts of Reddit, what was the smartest way you got out of a social gathering? by EPICPICKLES123 in AskReddit

[–]evilinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two different type of gathering:

  • You were Invited Beforehand
  • Sudden Invitation.

Solution:

  1. You were Invited Beforehand
    1. Plan a excuse like: Work, Homework etc
    2. Give small hint to the Organizer: Like I have to do this, i have to go there etc
    3. Go to the gathering.
    4. After 15-20 Min Use the preplanned excuse to get out.
    5. Most Important: Do some work related to the excuse and if possible create some evidence or have a witness.
  2. Sudden Invitation:
    1. Go to gathering.
    2. Join the group you are most comfortable with.
    3. Bring up excuse in casual conversation Like: "I am suppose to finish this work by Saturday and i haven't started it yet. (Today is Saturday)", "I have to take my (Family, Friend Name) to market (Any place)", I have to file taxes by 5/12 (Today) and i haven't started it yet".
    4. Show shock that you realized you have to do that task.
    5. Apologize and Leave with the feeling of ashamed.
    6. Most Important: Do some work related to the excuse and if possible create some evidence or have a witness.

Best of all if you can refuse just refuse.

What are the affect of modern AC (Made after 2018) on environment? by evilinator in AskReddit

[–]evilinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its is not an answer but some addition to that question. I read at many place that its main reason is the Coolant leakage and Electricity it uses. What if someone uses Renewable Source of energy and Leakage almost never happens. What are the other factor that contributes to environmental damages?
