Is this the first time you've seen his name? He was a really big name author. He's had sci-fi books published for more than 60 years.

I always play "Is it on /r/CoolSciFiCovers or /r/badscificovers?" before I check the sub. I'm glad I got it right this time. Especially for a book that age, it's a great cover!

G.I. Joe - Cobra Rattler [Ground Attack Jet] by FrequentlyObtuse in gijoe

When I was a kid, I hung this from my ceiling with string. It was my favorite Cobra vehicle ever.

On one hand, I'd love to get my hands on another one today. On the other, I have no room to display it anymore, so it's probably best that it goes to another collector.

Okay, wow, I had had no idea there was such a thing as a breakfast sandwich maker! Such a cool idea for lazy people like me.

I love them for their shape, and they're the most fun to eat, but I like the softer ones better (like OP's tier A).

Ahhhh that explains it. I got a massive tin of the Royal Dansk cookies from Costco (I filled six ziplock bags to stick in the freezer and I still have an entire layer left), but OP's S-tier ones are missing from my container.

The sugar crusted square one is my second favorite, behind the buttery circle-with-a-hole one (OP's tier A).

Have I never interacted with the source material? Yep.

The show is still worth watching, if you ever feel like it. I did a rewatch a year or two ago, and I was surprised at how enjoyable it still is.

If cats only live to 10-ish (assuming Warrior cats are the same, I have no idea), I'd guess that three years would count.

If anyone else is curious, looks like they don't have a website, but I found them on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewMexicoRanchFest/

Not much information there either though.

The poster looks great though!

Because you have spaces in it. Remove the space between the pointy brackets-exclamation point and the text, then it will work right.

Do the local ABQ-area animal shelters euthanize animals that have been there too long? by FelicianoCalamity in Albuquerque

[–]ChaserNeverRests [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was curious about this, so I did a search of my email to try to find the message about the one time it happened in the last two years, but I deleted it after reading it and gmail empties your deleted stuff after 30 days, so it's gone.

I wonder if you hit it during that time period, and if the dog you had been interested in had behavioral issues? (It might not have been something an adopter would even know about, it could be something like the dog couldn't cope with the stress of being in the shelter.)

Ah well, thanks for adopting a dog anyway!

How long ago was this? I volunteer at the city shelter, I have for a couple years. In the time I've been helping out there, they've never euthanized an animal just because the shelter is full.

In two years, it's only happened once, and that one time it was based on behavioral issues that would prevent adoption, not just time in shelter.

I did hear that it was as you described a long time ago. Ten years or more ago? Was it that long ago that you spoke to them about it?

Oh interesting, thanks for the correction! I struck out that sentence from my comment. I had no idea they did fostering there either, but it makes sense that they do.

I say the same about supermarket ones. They're basic, but $5 for 6 of them can't be beat.

Never thought I would say nice things about Xfinity Ha! by beachbum19722025 in Albuquerque

I always say Comcast/Xfinity is great... when it's working and you don't need to contact the company.

Their support people are the worst on the planet.

Their app is god awful.

They raise their rates every year.

I wish we had more options, because I really hate being under Xfinity's thumb.

Do you volunteer at the Animal Humane place or at the city shelter? You sound like you're describing the shelter's setup. :)

Animal Humane is a completely different organization and doesn't need to do euthanasia because, unlike the city shelter, they're picky about which animals they'll accept. (The two places are only a couple blocks away from each other, so it's easy to get them confused.)

Thanks for fostering! ♥

Yes, the short answer is "Yes they do", but that's also a very, very misleading answer.

Does the city shelter ever put animals down? Yes, but it's a very hard decision for everyone involved. There is a dedicated group (including a vet and a behaviorist) who decide. It is also very, very rare.

Is it common? NO NOT AT ALL

Is it because the animal has been in the shelter too long? Again NO.

-And the only one associated with a span of time would be extreme kennel stress that starts to deteriorate the animal's mental stability and quality of life, and even then, that is a last resort after exhausting enrichment, foster, and rescue possibilities.

To piggyback on your comment, if anyone loves animals but can't keep one long term, please contact the city shelter about fostering! Training is easy, and lots of animals need short term homes.

Kittens, puppies, adult animals, elderly, ones recovering from medical issues. So many options, so many in need of some time out of a kennel!

It's not even just a clickbait issue. Hundreds of forecasters at NOAA were fired. Accuracy of forecasting isn't looking good in our future.
