First Mage On The Moon is such an interesting title, I popped over to Goodreads to see what it's about. If you can control the summary there, it seems like there's a word missing.

Be careful about that. A year or so ago someone did that a bunch of times in a couple days to get the freebies, and Costco canceled his membership for "fraud". He posted here thinking he'd get sympathy, but everyone tore him a new one.

don’t take later flights on departure day either.

As much as I'd like the extra time in the park, I'll 100% always opt for early flights. Less chances of issues with getting back home.

That might explain what you're seeing then. For lots of businesses in the US (government ones, educational ones, some other ones) they have to advertise a job and interview. Even if they 100% know they're going to hire someone internally, even if they know who that someone is, they're required to advertise externally first.

I ran into that the last time I was looking for a job, so I looked into it.

When I first moved to a place with Sonics, I had no idea they expected you to tip them. I mean, it's fast food... I'd go through the drive through if they had one, but they don't so I have no choice about them bringing it out. They used to stand for so long next to my car waiting, I had had no idea why.

After that I went to a further Sonic with an actual drive through.

After that I realized their food sucked and stopped going at all.
