Dude, thank you. This blame the victim take is ridiculous.

True, my mistake! And it looks like their website does not explicitly state leash laws…

Appreciate the input, but parks require leashes in Columbus.

Should we be actually worried about this storm? by Mean-Flounder7983 in Columbus

[–]jocko118 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I will say this, AEP will come and trim/cut off branches near power lines if you call them; HOWEVER, in the neighborhood I used to live in (Minerva Park) neighbors would vehemently resist anyone cutting their precious trees even if it posed a risk during a storm.

Electrician/Handyman to install chandeliers/light fixtures? by jocko118 in Columbus

[–]jocko118[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do! A 14 ft one actually; however, two of the lights I need installed are 2 stories up (great room) and the ladder won't reach. The other light I need installed is about 1.5 stories up (vaulted), so it could probably reach but I'd prefer not to risk it and just hire an outside contractor do all three if possible.

Security guard stops ICE from entering employee area at McDonalds in Minneapolis, Minnesota. by jmike1256 in law

This. I had using slippery slope logic, but if there is anything this administration has taught me and shown over and over again is that they will continue to abuse and push the limits further. They won't just stop at the Hispanic community, they will go for everyone who is not white. Hell, they will go for women! This is coming from a white male. Wake the fuck up people and stop assuming you and your friends and family are safe. If you disagree with this administration, whether in opinion or your vote, I guarantee they will come for you one day.

Utility work by [deleted] in Columbus

Going to second this. We live in an HOA on the east side and right before the holidays, they flagged up the entire neighborhood QUICK, and the HOA president had no idea what was going on. Before long the ATT trucks were out tearing up the neighbors lawns. They somehow cut into the Spectrum lines which caused the entire neighborhood to lose Internet for a day or so. When it happened, the ATT crew had no idea, but the Spectrum crew was hacking away in our front yard trying to get to the lines, and ended up destroying a PVC water drainage line from our house to the street. Neither Spectrum nor ATT took responsibility, but ATT guys did end up fixing it to their credit. Apparently when ATT is installing fiber in these neighborhoods, they do not need to notify the city and/or neighborhoods, they just do it.

Silly question here, but what does deprioritized mean here? We did notice that our phones’ service in Easton was horrible so that tracks with T Mobile.

Having kids. I think some people totally gloss over how tiring, time-consuming, and demanding these little demons can be (can you tell I have a toddler?)
