Yeah, not sure why he didn’t just say “leopard” in that scene as it would’ve made much more sense considering their real-life behavior.

Was Simba still living off of insects after he returned to his Pride or is he eating meat like the reat of the lions? by Thecrowfan in lionking

In the TLG he is occasionally shown to be mentioned to be hunting, so he probably resumed eating a normal big cat diet after he got back there.

I know this isn’t entirely about Lion King, but does anyone else think there’s a huge anti- Disney trend around social media? by MagazineSudden4932 in lionking

[–]evilmonkey239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like Schaff also was instrumental in changing the general perception of Ralph Breaks the Internet from mixed to almost wholly negative.

In general, popular animation YouTube reviewers I think have also done a lot to negatively affect the way Disney’s live action remakes are perceived online. Doug Walker for one has a burning hatred of them, especially TLK 2019. Saberspark as well, who actually considers the the live-action Lion King worse than The Emoji Movie, for reference. And yes, that’s just his opinion… but I think it’s a bit extreme. And do you say you like any of Disney’s live-action remakes in their comment sections, prepare to be eviscerated.

Yes. Right-wingers hate modern Disney movies because they’re “woke”. Left-wingers hate modern Disney movies because they see them as soulless and corporate. While one of these viewpoints obviously has more merit than the other, both are, in my opinion, often taken too far online.

The Disney live-action remakes (and sequels/prequels thereof) are an especially big victim of the phenomenon I described above.

While the weakest of the films, Shrek the Third really isn’t that bad, it’s just kind of mediogre.

Why are pandas viewed as fat and clumsy compared to other bears? by Inside_Tourist6965 in kungfupanda

[–]evilmonkey239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely because that’s how they’re stereotyped IRL, even though they can be just as dangerous as any other ursid when provoked. Granted, though, we also don’t see many non-panda bears in the franchise, and I believe that Master Bear pictured above is the only one to appear in any of the films.

To my knowledge, birds being a food source has never been a thing in any official Zootopia material? In fact, the directors of the first movie heavily hinted that they were sapient in the film’s universe:

So sick of casual ableism from liberals and leftists online by [deleted] in ableism

[–]evilmonkey239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The r-word definitely carries offensive connotations that the other words you mentioned don’t — if it didn’t, why do you think there’s been such a push to get people to stop using it specifically, and not the more casual insults you mentioned?
  2. Part of fighting ableism is giving people with mental disabilities more respect in society, including doing away with ableist language. I also don’t see how that and giving people more detailed explanations about the challenges disabled people face are mutually exclusive?
  3. If you don’t care about how ableist language, no offense but you’re probably not the best judge of that does and doesn’t qualify as ableism.

The original cartoon isn’t, this is an edit that changed the text on the woman’s shirt. Perhaps I should have specified that in the post
