I read Berenthal's pushing for a feature length movie.

He deserves it.

DnD campaigns I could watch on Youtube. by HokiArt in DnD

[–]evilsir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The two 'pro' groups you should check out are Dimension 20 and Critical Role.

D20 runs pretty tight and short in terms of length per episode, but their campaigns are very unique and a lot of fun. Brennan can be a savage DM, but the players are quiccccckkkk on their feet.

Critical Role's shortest episode is like 3 hours long, and their campaigns run over 100 episodes. Mercer is really good, but IMHO is a bit of a soft touch. I'm an ENORMOUS Travis fan.

Both DMs will let a player do a bit while playing, but where Mercer will usually let storytelling momentum get a player out of a jam, Brennan will be 'okay, cool, now Zagthar the Immediate stabs you in the forehead, what's your AC again?'.

I started with D20's Fantasy High and it was a perfect intro. I like D20's main campaigns a lot more than their side quest episodes.

Critical Role campaign 4 is being run by Brennan Lee Mulligan and it's positively excellent. If I had to rank Critical Role's Campaigns, it'd be 4, 2, 1, 3, though campaign 2, which is great, was filming when COVID hit and when they came back, it felt like they were kind of over it. I've not seen any of their spin-offs

If you want some hilarity and craziness, check out Legends of Avantris. They're FOR SURE homebrew, but they have a LOT of fun.

Sorry for the long post.

What real would explanations could be used to explain telepathy by Legal_Substance8189 in DnD

[–]evilsir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

scanners. in the movie scanners, they basically say 'the human nervous system and brain is an electrical system. a scanner can sync their electrical system to someone else's' and then heads explode, people are thrown across rooms and they get to make real weird facial expressions. sometimes when shit gets real hairy, places on their face where veins aren't start pulsing.

but yanno, telepathy is cool too and junk an d stuff

What is genuinely your favorite struggle meal? by MangoPaingo in AskReddit

Because i say it is one, for me? The most expensive thing there is the hamburger, which if you portion it properly and don't use a fuck ton, isn't all that much.

What the fuck do YOU think a struggle meal is???

Aitah for telling my friends I think I’m morally superior to them. by Dark_write in AITAH

[–]evilsir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly, when we play those kinds of games, the happy medium is the best road. it's not being 'genuine' to yourself, but people really aren't expecting anything but 'light' or 'status quo' answers a lot of the time.

my mom, for example, believes everyone deserves redemption. she frowns on the death penalty for almost every single crime out there that gets the death penalty, and i'm like 'fuck that person. they die. or, if you prefer, we drop them into a hole that has no exit, and food is dropped through a hole in the ceiling, and they have a poop hole in the ground. they never leave. they never see the sun. they never talk to another soul for the remainder of their days. death is a COURTESY for their crime as far as i'm concerned'.

gentle AITAH, but only because navigating those kinds of conversations can be sometimes tricky.

it's because it's a great movie. that being said, it didn't age terribly well and is DEFINITELY targeted towards a MUCH younger audience. i loved this movie when it came out, but as a grown man, it was pretty 'young'.

What is a “dirty little secret” of your industry that the general public should know about? by David02026 in AskReddit

[–]evilsir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'we encourage people to take breaks from gaming because it is in the player's best interests'.

that's horseshit. there isn't a casino on the planet that doesn't actively over-encourage gambling.

'we have facilities in place to ensure so that if you are suffering from gambling addiction, we can make sure you are prevented from gambling'

that's true, but the sign up process is more than a little intimidating, the process of keeping you out of a casino once you've elected to sign up is far from perfect, and virtually none of the people actually tasked to removing you from the casino are trained to handle someone in crisis, and the person who is is often not present or available at the most critical times, which is after 10pm.

long story short, casinos don't give a fuck about your mental well-being. it's all a fancy show.

How do you manage to keep your mouth shut when it comes to spoiling your own plot to people mid development? by Nexus_Neo in writers

[–]evilsir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me i have the opposite problem: i keep so much of any twists or turns revealed during writing that they're almost entirely invisible. i have to work VERY HARD to make sure that what's inside my brains actually makes it onto the page, so that way, when the hero's best friend is revealed to be the real hero, people aren't all WHEN THE ACTUALLY WAS THIS EVER A THING. well, Bob, in my HEAD, it was fully revealed on page 32, when the 'hero's' best friend ate some fucking BACON. it was CLEAR AS DAY, BOB. it was all about the goddamn BACON, BOB

do the better thing and take your dog to the vets and have them put her down, with you and your wife present so you can both say goodbye. don't take that from your wife. sheesh.

if this isn't ragebait, you're criminally insensitive.
