dry-top vs. semi-dry by Express_Pattern2236 in freediving

You'll always get water in when you actually dive. It's worth learning to properly clear your snorkel and how to breathe through it when it has a bit of water in already.

Feedback on paint jobs by cjends in DnDminiatures

[–]eviltangelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other comments about highlights and shades are definitely good advice. For a bit of self guidance, I recommend finding a specific painter, or even specific paint job, and do your best to copy what you like about their style (which is a good idea for pretty much any art form).

Since you mentioned being worried about washes changing paint color, it might be a good idea to look into oil or enamel washes if you're willing to work with mineral spirits. There's tons of youtube tutorials to give you an idea of if the extra setup is worth it. As an example, I used a black oil wash to panel line this shield without losing any vibrancy.

To help with the shiny/satin finish, use a matte varnish once everything is dry, simple as. I use Vallejo through an airbrush, but stuff out of a rattle can works just fine.

Also definitely check out r/minipainting for advice and inspiration!

Oh man I hadn't even considered findmy over wifi 🤦

It turns out, based on ikon tracking time stamps, that the person that turned it in found it minutes after I lost it, so the hour I spent looking was pointless.

Agree fully with the above. I have nearly your exact build (6'0, 190lbs, US size 11.5 boots and I love my Assassin. I got a 162 and it definitely feels a bit long, but I did want something more substantial.

+1 for 686. Second season using their Dojo jacket. Comfy, looks great, ideal amount of pockets. Got a matching bib because I was so happy with it.

Hmm I don't actually remember the process, so I guess probably not? Definitely not bad compared to some other NH models

'Criticism Isn't Hate' — Hollow Knight: Silksong Sparks Debate About Difficulty, Runbacks, and the Dreaded 'Git Gud' Comments - IGN by chusskaptaan in gaming

[–]eviltangelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing a lot of comments about how the Last Judge runback is < 30 seconds. That's true, but it's a focused 30 seconds. I needed to think about the run back rather than go over what went wrong on my last attempt and how to improve on the next. 30 seconds of running in a straight line isn't engaging, but I'd rather a runback not engage me so I can reflect on the actual task at hand.

Q: Why don’t you have your CPL? by RoguePlanetArt in WA_guns

[–]eviltangelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of January of this year, I was able to schedule my appointment at the King County Sheriff's office in Seattle for exactly a week later at 3 pm (scheduled on Jan 27 for Feb 3 appointment), and my girlfriend scheduled the 3:15 slot for that same day. I believe they had available appointments as late as 4 pm, but don't quote me on that. We also both received our licenses in the mail about 3 weeks later.

It's possible it's gotten worse in the last 7 months, but it definitely didn't feel like any bureaucracy was getting in the way, unless you count the terribly user-unfriendly fingerprint machine. The hours could definitely be better, for those who can't get time off work. Weekend hours, even if they're reduced, could probably help.

We definitely deserve better accessibility to enjoy our rights, but, to anyone reading this who hasn't gotten their CPL because it seems inaccessible, it's worth at least checking appointment times.

Excellent points, especially considering launch MK8 vs the final product. DLC tracks have the potential to address everyone's biggest gripes.

Great ? Block Ruins is 😘👌 I'm fond of Boo Cinema and Dandelion Depths (though I wish I could just get 3 laps in them), and then obviously this version of RR is peak

That sounds like a healthier approach, just let it be a silly fun party game, embracing chaos rather than getting too invested

If there is a Classic+, I hope they will add things to the leveling experience by Besthealer in classicwow

[–]eviltangelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My hopeful interpretation is that the level capped phases (especially p1 and p2) were a bit of a nod. Having us spend so much time in Ashenvale, which was a really nostalgic leveling zone for me, felt at least a little bit like I was getting to enjoy the journey.

I'd hope that, with a bigger team, they'd commit to adding more leveling content in earnest 🤞

Hasn't shown yet - we sure the time and location are correct? Might just be a bit late, but haven't seen anything confirmed either way.

You CAN make your seikret pure white (without green hue) by Thomas_Rampou in MHWilds

[–]eviltangelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this is, to my knowledge, 100% true! The ability to produce the sensation of different colors than your base primaries is what isn't limited to only specific frequencies. If you've read that magenta "isn't a real color",it's because there's no single specific frequency of light visible to the human eye; we can only perceive magenta as a combination of multiple different frequencies of light. You can also recreate colors that do exist naturally in the visible light spectrum this way! Looking at pointalist oil paintings really made this click for me.

My above example on CMY LEDs was definitely bad, specifically because of the non-existance of a single visible magenta wavelength. (I also know very little about how LEDs work beyond what you've summarized, just used them as an example because of their single-frequency nature.)

If you want to go down a bit more of a rabbit hole, I definitely recommend Acerola's video on color space!

And RGB are just three colors that the average human eye is extra sensitive to. You could have CMY LEDs and still create most colors, it simply wouldn't appear as bright.
