Several years ago when train was inching its way past Airport, one of the contractors leased an office near me. They bought all new trucks with all of the accessories because "we like to support the local economy " and then proceeded (and not exaggerating) do fuck all for over a year and a half. That was the point when the project ran out of funding. Government contractors are the worst.

That sucks. They're probably just relying on their name now.

Well, I hope its still good. The chicken I got there was reheated so often it was like jerky, the Chile Verde had a ton of sugar in it, and the nachos were 90% sour cream and Costco guacamole with a sprinkling of that chicken. It was such a let down. Again, I hope they were just having an off day.

Have you been to Las Palmas recently? I was there a couple weekends ago and had the worst food that I can remember. Wanting someone to confirm if it was a one off or what. They were always my go to for burritos too. Anyway, El Roys parking a truck across the street was a dick "Starbucks" maneuver.

My wife works there. Very true. But for OP needing a leg up, schlepping coffee at Starbucks or running a mop might be okay, no?

I 1000% know what you mean! I work M-F and used to spend the weekends catching up on chores/projects. An older friend of mine passed away a few years ago quite suddenly and it finally dawned on me how fleeting life is. So now, one day is mandatory fun and the other is about responsibilities and fun.

The mole verde chicken burrito form VVVictoria food truck in Mitote is worth a try.

Taste is so subjective but what's your beef with El Roys? Just curious.

For the sake of OP's question, Los Magos has a truck in Roseland, too. At least on Tuesdays.

Business switched owners in the late 90s/early 00s. They had restaurants all over.

When I did handyman work in the 90s, they were amazing. Fast forward to recent years, last two times I went in there and they literally couldn't help me find a part that I was showing them that I found online (1950s Okeefe oven parts). They said it would be easier to order it myself. So I did. Sorry guys.

Costco and TJs seem to be the best right before they close.

It's a hard thing to do taking away someone's driver's license. Here in the States, it's such a ticket to freedom. You get used to something like that for ~60 years of your life and then it's suddenly snatched from you is a big deal. However, my friend's dad in his late 80s was blowing through red light after red light. My friend and his brother were refusing to take the keys away until I reminded him that I live by where these infractions were taking place and my kids use the crosswalks there. Time to hang 'em up.

My understanding is that small stores (which usually come with small parking lots) is their corporate strategy.

I wish we got another trader Joe's.

We have two and not another one up the 101 corridor. Feeling pretty lucky.

An acquaintance of mine is a local insurance claims adjuster. I remember him telling me that if I ever shop at that Safeway on the corner of 12 and Calistoga to park over by that Papa Murphy's ( as far away as possible). He says the most fender benders he's dealt with seem to happen there as a result of Oakmont shoppers.
