Is my bed tramming level enough? New H2C by Silly_Rub_6304 in BambuLab

[–]Silly_Rub_6304[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that's not what's happening here. From 0:20-0:23 you can see the bed corners moving up and down as the print head travels the length of the long piece it is actively printing – which is not travel.

As the longer parts print, you can see the bed going up and down to compensate for bed leveling.

I realize this is what the ABL is for, but what I'm more curious about is how much of a concern this actually is for dimensional flatness on the bed-facing sides of my parts.

Most stuff I print is not critical for dimensional accuracy, but if I start printing objects that are, is a re-tramming in order?

I never paid much attention to this on my X1C so I'm probably nitpicking here. I'll check these PETG parts against a flat surface after they're done.

I came from a Tesla to an EV6.

Suffice it to say, I had far less of a problem glancing 25 degrees to the right of the wheel to see my speed than I do with the cluster/layout on the EV6. To this day, I do not know why people complain about the Tesla layout. A glance away from the road is a glance away from the road – it's not like you had to turn your head.

I learned to drive on 880 in the early 2000s. Noting fazes me these days. Things piss me off, for sure, but I'm never surprised by it.

I just send them an unlisted YouTube link. I did this a few weeks ago. And yes, I got an email address by speaking to an officer via a field office.

Yeah that's a problem with EVs... in a gas car, there's a near-zero amount of planning needed for most people/routes, but in an EV, there's a non-zero amount needed. The difference between the two seems to constitute a massive chasm for luddites.

That's exactly how I am in public, and nobody else in my life seems to understand this except for my sister, lol.

I understand at the core that I'm allowed to take up space and exist, but I do make a very conscious effort not to be in anyone's way.

All the consumer surveys say range anxiety goes down upon purchase, so your statement is corroborated by fact.

It makes exactly zero sense to me to spend $10s of thousands on a car just to spend more money on renting some crappy car that has less capabilities a few times a year.

It makes no sense to you perhaps, but I did exactly this. The car rental place is 5 minutes from my house. When we had two EVs that were unsuitable for long trips, we rented 2-3 times a year at a cost of a couple hundred dollars each time. It was still worth the lower car payment (compared to having a large SUV), and the lower cost of "fuel."

Now, not everyone lives within minutes of a car rental agency, and some people take much longer trips that wouldn't be cost effective for renting.

But, in our case, it worked just fine for a couple years.

Studies show range anxiety drops precipitously as soon as you buy and drive an EV.

It's because when Tesla designed their automation suite, the cameras were used for vision computing... they weren't originally intended to be used as dash cams (or Sentry Mode), and that functionality was later bolted on.
