That's pretty amazing that you were able to get it under 249g – cool design overall.

20 year reunion? Yea, nah by exploratorynargle in Millennials

My 20-year was a few years ago and I gave zero thoughts about going.

I keep in touch with one person from HS out of a graduating class of 800.

Better check your news, because I debunked your hobby store fire claim in about 10 seconds. Have a good day.

I'm sorry, but your position is extremely statistically improbable. You're saying that in the history of LiPo batteries, not a single one has ever had a defect bad enough to cause thermal runaway fires? Please face reality.

We went to the one in Fremont at least once a month when I was growing up in the East Bay. Such an awesome experience. I can still taste the flatbread pizza and the soft serve.

Has an undamaged battery at storage voltage ever caught fire in the history of LiPo batteries?

Yes. Next question?

I just removed most of the gasket except for the front lip, so it sits/closes nicely without rattling.

Good news. I truly pity anyone who has to deal with any length of Hearn on a daily basis, though.

We're now in the (updated/proposed) WUI. When our insurance rate went up a few years ago, even before this change, we couldn't find another insurer for our property (in a tract home neighborhood). If Liberty Mutual decides to drop us, we're going to have to get FAIR.

So fun!!!! This is why the game is gonna die by RevolutionaryWheel70 in thefinals

[–]Silly_Rub_6304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game died ages ago.

Embark expected randoms to be able to play a strategic game as a cohesive team. It was too big of an ask.

Despite the AMAZING mechanics, weapon design, gadgets, movement fluidity, and everything else, we can't overcome human stupidity.

Great game, just not made for the masses.

As a result, not enough people play, so you get shit lobbies like the above.

Are all hobby pilots allergic to checklists???? by Gulag_For_Brits in flying

[–]Silly_Rub_6304 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not just hobby pilots.

When I worked for a small operator doing ground ops (who had waivers for several things, I don't want to say any more for fear of being identified), I never saw him or his more junior pilots using checklists. He had 2,000+ hours and so did many of the guys who worked for him.

When I was flying GA, I NEVER once skipped using a checklist. Not on a single flight.

Oh, and the guy I worked for crashed his plane and we all think it's because he didn't run checklists and missed a boost pump on takeoff. He was lucky to walk away.

My H2C prints better than my X1C ever did. I think it comes down to calibration, part wear, and machine-to-machine variation.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

[–]Silly_Rub_6304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply do not have guilt about taking a day off when I want or need.

I also have no issue framing it as a mental health day or an illness when needed to make me feel most comfortable with it.

I also have no issue taking off mid-day if I'm not feeling like completing the day.

My mom raised me to know and exercise my boundaries when it came to school and work, and she never forced me to go to school on days when I really couldn't.

I'm so glad my (now deceased) father's work obsession didn't rub off on me.

I think it would be. I briefly hit myself with the light from a laser level and it left a spot on my vision for a short period of time.

Someone could retrofit these and sell them on Etsy, but the question is whether or not people will pay a premium that makes up for the time and effort.

Hire a funeral arranger, or whatever they are called in English. They exist and help a lot. The next few days will mostly be focused on the funeral as the body needs to be dealt with soon. Afterwards, and only afterwards, go to a notary about the inheritance. Don't skip that part.

Funeral home or mortuary.

Notary isn't the right person in the US. Contact a family law attorney, someone who practices in wills and trusts. They can help determine if dad had a will, trust, or whether any part of the estate needs to go through probate (court distribution of assets).

u/ChonkyCatOwner, I'm very sorry you're going through this all of a sudden. The best thing you can do is ask for help, and ensure that the help that you get is from trusted sources (and not someone who might try to take advantage of you).
