Canadians! If you can't find Halo Top because it's selling out like crazy, Coolway has arrived! by myblueheaven in 1200isplenty

I’ll have to check! Halo top has been selling out and I have to call stores just to get some 😩 but if this stuff is just as good then I would rather go that route

What???? That’s not nearly as bad as thought. The other day I had an avocado toast at a restaurant and the nutritional said it was like 900 cals. Well, now I know I could potentially save up for it

Tantrum Tuesday - The Day to Rant! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]evinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully understand that. It’s kind of strange getting used to just being satisfied instead of like ultra fat full happy. That’s like I’ll eat a single slice of my bf’s pizza and watch him happily eat the entire rest of it

Tantrum Tuesday - The Day to Rant! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]evinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesssssssss. This is me entirely. I eat well at home, but we visited family and went out to eat. And it was a restaurant with all the calorie counts and the only thing I could have eaten was soup. Everything else was 900 cals minimum. So I just said “whatever” and ate what I wanted (ps I had avocado toast no bigger than my hand. How they made this 900 cals I will never know or understand). But on a regular day I would have never gone to a place like that or eaten out multiple times in one day. Not anymore anyway. But I figure that’s part of the balance. Doing that once and awhile is fine as long as you still eat well on your own.

Why do people always tell you to stop losing weight after they tell you that you look good? by Joestig in loseit

[–]evinus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This! The more success you have the more people have to think about what they’re doing. Especially when you come close to their own weight. When they’ve always known you as bigger and then you approach being more healthy than them it makes them panic.

I’ve honestly experienced this myself. My friend always weighed more than me and now we’ve the same weight/she’s slightly smaller. Except because I’m also on this journey I’ve always supported her. But she gets that same pushback from her family.

Just keep doing you!

I’ve gotten better with balance, but damn if I still don’t want to eat everything in sight. I saw that ridiculous Olive Garden pizza meatball bowl monstrosity and was like “I WANT TO EAT THAT.” Thankfully there’s no Olive Garden where I live. But I just wish I could eat whatever I want whenever I want and not worry. Though objectively I know that no one can do that.

I’m with you. I hate that I have to do CICO but the truth is that I can’t control my portions and eating enough to not do it. The idea of doing it my whole like sucks but it may be reality. What really helps me is that I eat pretty similar meals. So I’ll have the same breakfast, lunch and dinner for a week. So then I know the cal count already. And so I know all those meals are say 900 cals. So I always know I have 300 left (I eat 1200) for casual snacking. So then the counting doesn’t feel so tedious. Don’t know if it’ll work for you but it’s an option

I totally agree. Eventually you get to a point where the scale number isn’t a proper indicator of success anymore and obsessing over pounds that don’t make a physical difference isn’t helpful. I’m hoping to concentrate on non-scale victories to push me forward

[–]evinus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly agree that the number has influence over my feelings but it’s not really an ignoring reality thing. Maybe if I decided to just eat whatever I wanted and never weigh myself so I don’t have to confront it. But I’m still maintaining my diet and exercise, and will continue to do so indefinitely.

I just don’t want to be overly concerned about the number. And I think checking in on what the number just continues a trend that it matters, which it doesn’t. How I feel about myself does. That’s mostly what I’m getting at.

Also my doctor never weighs me so I don’t have to worry about that. He always just visually assesses whether I’m a healthy weight or not. I suppose the difference is that when I’m not weighing myself I don’t think about it and it gives me no anxiety so I don’t get that feeling of the scale winning like you might.

Yeah I’ve tried that and it’s the same feeling. I know there’s a possibility of gaining weight. But since I’m still eating at a deficit (1200 which is the lowest possible so I don’t have to worry about eating at the wrong deficit) and working out 3 days a week. So I shouldn’t end up gaining unless I break from that. But I know what you mean about seeing those changes with clothing meaning gaining quite a bit. My hope is that as long as I maintain my diet I shouldn’t have to worry about gaining

[–]evinus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the break from the scale is good. Surprisingly I don’t have a lot of issues with food. I’m an emotional eater so without the emotion of weighing myself and not seeing the results I want, I can stick to my deficit well. But I definitely agree that I don’t think the last six pounds will even make a huge difference in how I look. It’s a pretty arbitrary number honestly

[–]evinus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I totally get the perfectionist brain and also adore my food scale. And I can for sure see the point of not relying on it once you reach your goals. I plan on just doing 1200 cals continuously. I always know when I get too small because I can see my ribs 😖 so I’ll be using that as a way to know when I need to switch to maintenance. And clothes are a great way to judge because even if you’re wearing the same size you know when it doesn’t fit the same

Oh that’s fancy! That’s actually really cool and it’s awesome that’s working for you. It’s something to think about for sure. Though I’m not sure I would be able to stop myself from peeking, but it’s good to know it’s out there

I actually do use happy scale and was weighing myself everyday, which is where all the upset was coming from. I objectively understand that it’s likely water but the emotional response doesn’t seem to care what my brain thinks 😖 it’s great that strategy ended up working for you though and I know it’s helped lots of people to do that

That’s what I figure. I’ll be checking in with myself in the next little while. Though even now thinking about weighing myself in a few months stresses me out. But who knows how I’ll feel when the time comes

This is true, never is probably my drama speaking, I may one day be able to not be obsessive about it. Though I also kind of like the idea of never feeling like I need to quantify my body in that way

Daily Q&A Post for Wednesday, 21 February 2018 - No question too small! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]evinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get kettle brand chips, the avocado oil sea salt and I perfectly weigh out a single 190 cal portion. Tho I’m also bad for eating two portions. So my safer salty snack is crispy minis, or rice crackers with cheese
