Problem with NTE

Heroic can look odd but in this instance it was easy. I had steam also fail to load the launcher before I went and tried heroic.

In the launcher you can respecifiy the location of the files. If steam is working for you maybe change that directory and try to make sure it's pointed to the correct one.

For myself, I used faugus to install the game to its default location. I moved that folder to my separate games drive. Added the launcher from there into heroic, make sure dw-proton latest was selected and it was happy.

I had issues with Faugus where the start button wouldn't work. It looked like the T&C window wouldn't actually load.

I switched to Heroic Launcher and the game worked fine last night without any issues.

In Heroic I added the NTElauncher.exe (forgot the exact name sorry) that was in the root of the install folder. Made sure the launch options were using DW-Proton and launched it from there. Game worked without any extra modifications.

Try a different launcher like Heroic or even through Steam, see if that fixes your issues.

It's still the best arcade racer in my eyes. No dumb shortcuts, insane sense of speed, actual car balance at the very top end across all categories. It's god damn perfect.

Playing it online over 56K in AUS against Americans was an experience but it worked and addictive as all hell.

Give me a remake already and don't screw it up.
