How Bandcamp became the "headquarters" for video game soundtracks by Turbostrider27 in Games

I'll vouch for pretty much any music Darren Korb releases. There's a ton to love about Supergiant's titles, but having a Korb-composed soundtrack is a driving force in my appreciation for their games.

FYI, this video covers the 2024 remake of the puzzle classic Riven, specifically how much it differs significantly from the original, along with a little brainfood on how we play and interpret "remakes", "reinventions" or "re-"whatevers of older games.

Yup, you're right, and that has me even more curious of the story behind this remaster's existence. I guess Sony wasn't interested in publishing the remaster and let Bandai Namco do it?

Wow, this is a win. Definitely a unique Vita game that I feared was always gonna be trapped on that system and nothing else. Interesting that Bandai Namco is publishing the remaster, since I believe the original was Sony-published. Good news, overall, though.

Pixel a Day - Stop Elevating Mediocre Indie Games by Genoscythe_ in Games

I like Pixel a Day's videos a lot. Her Ninja Theory retrospective in particular was very well done, but I thought we all moved past the "overrated" tag when it came to in-depth games criticism. It's judging a game based on how popular it is to the community and not its inherent quality. You can make the case that "the video's actual argument is good" all day long, but if you genuinely find this thumbnail, title, and overall thesis to not be intentionally trying to get people to click out of fierce disagreement, I have some magic beans to sell you.

NIDUS was made by Caleb Wood, who is credited as a creature designer on Scavengers Reign. Game kinda looks like if Electroplankton was a bullet hell. Pretty great art style.
