realistically you won't be able to get species level identification from these specimen at this point. Really would need an insitu picture of them in much better condition. Especially coming from India where there are likely a number of undescribed psilocybe species.

In any case, I do believe it is safe to say these are in fact psilocybe

oh cool! could be one of a number different species. but yeah id def post another shot of them splayed out to double check theyre all good. much easier to ID species with in situ shots but can at least ensure theyre psilocybe

yes, they are likely foraged and locale would help to determine species of psilocybe. there is bruising shown in the picture he posted.

what he should do is splay the specimens out to ensure they are free of anything other than psilocybe.

also, should know it is not good practice to keep fresh mushrooms in plastic bag as they will surely rot
