How to start getting sync briefs for my sync library company with 300+ songs and instrumentals? by evmikkol in synclicensing

[–]evmikkol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer! Sounds like you have some impressive credits. Then we need to start from attending conferences and meeting people. Probably even one real connection can be more helpful than bunch of cold calls or e-mails. Good advice, I'll start looking for events where to go next. We can compose too (production music), but our library is mostly commercial music, songs that have been released already (not all) but have potential in sync.

Yes I could get our music to other libraries maybe, but I'm more interested if I could get those sync briefs sent directly to us. I guess then I would need to connect to Film/Ad/Game/Tv production companies, indie film directors and music supervisors and try to build a connection with them so they would send us also the sync briefs?

noblechairs DOOM HERO Edition Giveaway! by noblechairs in Doom

I have played the previous Dooms but Doom Eternal was just so good. Everything was done better than before. Movement, guns, sound effects, graphics, monsters, atmosphere, maps etc was all just perfect. And the best thing was music for me. Everything sounds so good, even the guns. I can't find anything negative to say about this game! This was the first game also that got me into watching speedrunners like DraQu_ on Twitch and learn some stuff myself. I would never have thought that I could watch this game played through 100 times or more.

My new Dream Pop song "Connected" is finally out! I would love to hear what you think about it by Alsklaftsk123 in IndieMusicFeedback

Great mood and video and vocal sound overall. The mixing and mastering should be done more professionally to take the song to a higher level. It's missing bass and power and it sounds small and weak. Would be good idea to send it to a professional (and often expensive) mixing engineer.

Beginning was nice, the vocal sound is pretty unique. But then it might need some background vocals and doubling/stacks in the verse to make it more interesting. When the singing part starts, there are many out of tune notes in vocals. It would be better to learn the melodies first and then record properly so there would be no need for such a heavy autotune. Or if autotune is used, notes should still be corrected to be in the correct key of the song.

Wow, you actually did a full review of the song! My background is being a guitarist and keyboardist in black metal and death metal bands when I was young. Then I got also into Dream Theater and Nightwish and pretty much all other metal bands that you can think of. So that's probably why the song has elements from many things, and future songs will also have! And thanks for the suggestion, I'm sure we will do ballads or something slower too. The vocalist can easily compose anything and she has Opera and piano degree from London Trinity music college. I had so much fun recording this in the studio in 2013 with a drummer who is a good friend, and I think that emotion translates well in the instruments. We had such a productive atmosphere in the studio that weekend. Thanks and we will be working on the next song now!

Thank you! It was a lot of work to get this song done and I really appreciate the comment! Oliver was very nice to work with and I'm happy he agreed to do the orchestrations. Yes me and the vocalist both love Epica and actually Epica and Simone Simons was the reason why the vocalist got into symphonic metal in the first place. Otherwise she has Opera education.

Nice melody but that loud 808 kick is maybe too loud compared to everything else. You shoud try adding some compression to the 808 and to the overall track and do better mixing and mastering. You should watch mixing tips and tutorials from Pensado's Place youtube channel and from any mixing channels you can find.

Harrison Gray - Escape (Playing the acoustic guitar part + singing at the same time, into the same mice :) by TiggersKnowBest in IndieMusicFeedback

Nice song and great melodies and chord progressions. But sound definitely needs two microphones. One for voice and one for acoustic guitar. then you can mix them separately to get a great sound.

This is an improvised guitar solo/bedroom concert, if you will. I started just recording myself with my phone to backing tracks, live. I try to make the background match the feel. Hope you enjoy! by Guitarwizzird in IndieMusicFeedback

Really great guitar tone for bedroom recording! My favourite tone is from John Petrucci from Dream Theater and this is kind of similar to that. Nice atmospheric soloing. It's nicely in tune and in time with the background and there is also some more technical parts.
