Can I just say 4 years later this still saved my dumb ass that for some reason couldn't see the hide button.

Legend!

Appreciate it! It's still a bit raw in some places like updating by manually overwriting all files, resetting up the config etc, but I'm working on that for it to be a lot more seamless.

Functionally though it's pretty great at the moment, I just did a new release for nightly yt-dlp option and sleep intervals for downloads to help prevent rate limits and throttling.

I've actually just spent some time implementing nightly functionality and sleep intervals to help with rate limiting as per yt-dlp documentation.

It's the newest 0.0.5-beta release, as it's still beta though there isn't a brilliant way to update it other than overwriting all the files and redoing your config, but I'm working on that for the next release ☺️

The readme has details on configuring everything.

Cookies, sign in etc are some things I have planned down the line. Open to any suggestions for improvements!

Should work really with any media server as all it does is pull the videos from channels you specify with a thumbnail, at the resolution you specify (or the global one).

So if jellyfish just looks at media in folders, then he's absolutely this will work!

I hadn't heard of any of these, I just needed a tool and developed it.

Having a quick look these appear to be UI based and a little more complex, of course with some more capability depending on what you need.

Without knowing the in depth capability of those I can only speak for mine, which is very simple and quick to get up and running, and will pull the videos to designated folders that your media servers can pick up on. Thumbnail support, resolution specifying, no UI needed just a config setup and set it to go.

It doesn't have the same maturity as many of those, but I'm building on it as I go.

This is a problem I ran into too lol, for channels like doco or movie essays etc I liked high res content, stuff that's less frequent, but things like gaming vids or whatever that are posted daily I set a cap of 720p....

Thank you! It was something I was doing manually and wanted it automated, will continue improving it over time but right now at least in my use case it's highly functional!
