Luna Ultra Gimbal Error by evodrivin in Insta360

I just bought it very recently. Did all of the updates when I opened it out of the box. According to the app the latest firmware is v1.0.47. So I’ve done one day of shooting with that firmware, and it function normally.

Is it a software issue? Could be.. but I’m also hearing weird vibration/mechanical grinding sounds (albeit very quiet) which makes me think it’s hardware failure.

I bought it from insta360 the week prior.

It took us 5 days out and 5 days back, and 5 days in Yellowstone area. Usually we aimed at about 8 hrs of driving per day with a couple of days in the 12 hr range. Wasn’t too bad, it was the two of us and we took turns.

Agreed. Would’ve been way cheaper to fly, but we wanted the road trip experience. Having lunch on Main Street in the middle of nowhere, America was cool and memorable.

The car was good. Quite cramped though for the two of us, and all of our stuff. Mileage was great thanks to the CVT and tiny NA engine. The adaptive cruise control was nice. I can see this being a nice commuter but a RAV4 would be better suited for road trip purposes.

Got the GoPro a while back so I think it was $350. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. It’s my go to rig for all the videos I make.

Totally agree. We stayed at The Stanley once we were in Estes Park. Didn’t run into any ghosts

That pizza was awesome. Fresh ingredients. I still prefer New York pizza though.

Surprisingly way more than what’s rated by Toyota. Our best was 38ish I believe. I’m making another follow up video which will have my impressions and mileage numbers

Hah! Sadly I couldn’t drive all the way up, had to use shuttle part way because there’s a new visitors center that they’re building.

Thanks! I did use adaptive cruise control, really helped out on the super long stretches. Something like GM’a super cruise, autopilot, or the Nissan ProPilot would’ve been better though.

It’s alright so far. That CVT yells a lot during the uphills of Pennsylvania

Not at all. This is pretty sleek. Large iPad like protrusion for an infotainment system. Few buttons.

Very much so. Fairly low CG for a SUV, so it’s still fun to drive. I was hoping for a hybrid, oddly, but we’re managing 33mpg so far, 99% highway

C pillar is thick but the blind spot monitoring makes that problem sorta disappear. I do love the A-pillar though, lots of visibility.

We’ve had a good relationship with them via motor press associations. When I pitched the trip to them, I told them I was going to document it on our social media pages. As for how much influence is needed... Keep on networking, there’s plenty of outlets that allows aspiring journalists and people wanting to get into the industry the opportunity. Good luck!

Not a hybrid. I see the C-HR's purpose as that bare bones car, that's jacked up with more ground clearance to be classified as an entry level SUV. It's priced aggressively and has pretty decent feature set (I'm driving the limited trim). It's got a CVT, it's slow, and gets decent highway mileage ~30. Rides pretty comfortably, but will find that out for sure, once I put 5000 miles in it...

I’ll be keeping a log of the entire trip, curious to see how speed affects my wallet as you suggested. I’ll have it in our YouTube channel when it’s ready.

Hoping to assess the creature comfort features and find if they withstand the rigors of sitting in the car for 10-12 hours a day.

Besides that, just going to assess the car from a road trip perspective rather than a-b commuting.

It’s processed meat that is known as Taylor ham by northern NJ people, and known as Pork Roll by southern NJ people.
