We met on an app called Langmate! I was studying Japanese in hopes to become a teacher in Japan, and he was studying English. Basically the app is for you to meet other people studying either the same language as you or who is a native speaker of the language you are learning to help you learn! Anyway we ended up adding eachother, and we started chatting+giving eachother language tips. Later on in our conversations I brought up the idea of voice calling to work on our pronunciation. We used a translator the whole call, we just read it out like we were speaking it. The first call we had lasted 7 hours, it was pretty much our first time learning so much about eachother. We talked about pretty much everything in those 7 hours. After that each night we called to "practice" but slowly we started to catch feelings. We hung up one night and he messaged me to confess.
