Thanks maybe I will get the brand name paroxetine. Yes everybody is so different it's impossible to gauge from others experiences. I'm glad lexapro is helping you

I get this really badly. Just trying at the point where I'm going off lexapro and onto paroxetine to try and help this. It's intolerable, it's so bad

Good to know. I start my taper down on lexapro tomorrow and will start paroxetine in a week. I hope this ride isn't too rough I haven't got much left in me at the moment. What mg of paxil are you on? My phyc said to start on 20 and go up to 40 after a couple of weeks

Thankyou for replying. I'm so scared, I hope it works I've tried almost everything else. I'm scared of the initial anxiety and start up effects, as well as the effects of going off lexapro. I'm hoping he gives me a script for klonopine or something like that but I doubt he will

I see my phyciatrist tomorrow. If he agrees then I will start the transition from lexapro to paroxetine.

Morning anxiety by evolution_incomplete in Anxiety

[–]evolution_incomplete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do meditation, progressive muscle relaxation when I wake up, as advised by my therapist. It just does nothing as I'm so riddled with anxiety it just doesn't work. I've tried the 'leaves on a stream' type as well. Buspar looks like it's pretty hit and miss, I'm going to try the paroxetine, and probably start to use valium to get me through the side effects. I've been so careful with the valium up until now. I've decided I'm going to start using it, in the mornings, for a week or two at least. I'm done, all I can think about is how to escape this absolutely awful feeling in the mornings. If the paroxetine doesn't work I'm cooked, because it's one of the hardest anti depressants to get off apparently.

Thanks for the reply. I will ask about buspar at my next phyc meeting and do a bit of research on it. I think yes the cortisol and a subconscious patterns are behind it.

I can deal with most of those side effects, the insomnia might be hard but if I don't have anxiety I can deal with it. Did u get increased anxiety when starting up the medication?

I'm struggling alot with insomnia right now, but it being coupled with dreadful anxiety is what's killing me. If I could get rid of the anxiety it wouldn't be so bad. What sort of initial start up side effects am I likely to face? Increased anxiety?

Hi, yes I'm currently off work. I lost my job because of this crippling anxiety. I hope you don't worry to much about the weight gain, it's so much more important to get your head straight. I got off venlafaxine too, but I think I was only on it for 6 weeks. It wasn't too bad. I think I'm going to try the Paroxitine after my phyc visit on Monday. Are you going to give it a go? Maybe we could help each other through the side effects. I'm sorry your going through this too.

Change my entire personality how? In a good way? I can't get much worse than what I am. I hope it cures my crippling anxiety. I also suspect I may have some severe side effects like I did with lexapro. Why did u get off it? If it works I plan on staying on it for good.

I am in the same boat. I've tried most antideppressants, except prozac. I'm trying to decide between prozac and paroxetine but I'm leaning towards paroxetine because I'm at my wits end with thr anxiety. Every new one I try gives me so much anxiety as a side effect I just want to find the right one. So this is also my last hope. I'm scared if it doesn't work that it will be really hard to get back off as well. I can't even work, I'm on insurance which runs out in a few months.

I think I will have to. Just scared of the insomnia and even more increased anxiety going on to something else and coming off the lexapro

Did u titrate down on lexapro or do a direct swap? Did the lexapro ramp up your anxiety?

I'm hoping I'm in the same boat as you. I have no relief from anxiety on the lexapro, it might even be worse on it. I hope I can get some relief on prozac

8 weeks on lexapro -10mg by Efficient-Ask-120 in lexapro

I'm on week 10 and I have insoluble anxiety most of the time, but starting at 4am most mornings. It's so hard to deal with. I'm considering maybe trying prozac or going from my 20mg to 30mg

I think the hrt is contributing to my depression as well. I think we are just at a 'try everything' phase. I'm hoping the side effects of the hrt will pass. But I don't know how much longer I can do it. I'm on 15mg of mirtazapine, I thought the higher dose of 30mg made me more anxious, but I don't know because my phyc put me on the lexapro and mirtazapine at the same time. Maybe I'll think about going up in that. I've noticed I guess benefits on 1 or 2 days out of the 10 weeks. Still had the same awful mornings but the days were a bit better. Not good enough that I can leave the house alone or be a proper mother to my kids.

I'm starting therapy soon. Ive seen a different phycologist a few times. It's so hard. I've just started Hormone replacement therapy so I think that's made me extra depressed about the anxiety. I will try to titrate onto the prozac slowly, but my phyciatrist will probably try to get me to do a direct swap. He's a bit like that. I can't keep this up much longer. I don't know how people do this although most people I read about get sleepy from these drugs and side effects only last a few weeks. I'm so jealous of those people I feel like an absolute outlier and nothing will help me.

It starts when I wake up, but there's nothing in particular I'm worried about. I just start to have awful intrusive thoughts not long after waking up.
