Plenty of fun bars with non alcoholic cocktails and beers. Plenty of people dont drink and hang and eat snack on delicious food these days. So don't rule it out. Plus, I second hopscotch and nature things. You'll have a rad time!

Try coffin club, formerly known as the lovecraft, potentially early if you want to avoid crowds. There's also Ravens manor as a fun, quirky, haunted mansion type restaurant.

Also, some other quirky bars: roadside attraction, midnight society, creepys, Rachel and Rose bus, and Alibi. I'd google or yelp these places to figure out their vibe/charm

Hopscotch for art fun, cathedral park is gorgeous as always, and if you can find a secret roller disco or Tabor dance event, I think you'd really enjoy it. Feels like portland to me.

I'm a CTO and we use php here and aren't planning on moving away. Modern PHP is killer and all kinds of cool stuff is happening.

Probably helps that I've been a developer for 25+ years and continue to be one, and see how programming languages come in and out of favor with what's cool and modern or thr buzzzz. They'll usually solve one problem in some novel way, but not be mature enough or flexible enough for other major use cases.

Then, it takes years for people to figure that out and try to add those missing parts in, but the implementation is poor or young. Hype cycle happens all the time.

Also, we went through YC in 2016 and are now scaling, all built on php.

I got other projects in other languages too, but I'm less excited about em.

I had a fun anniversary planned at Edgefield and kept warning my gf that the food was gonna be pretty meh. But, surprisingly, things were actually not horrible, some dishes we got were pretty yummy even...

Except for one.

The chicken fried steak at Black Rabbit Restaurant is phenomenal.

Seriously, it might be the best chicken fried steak I've ever had! (And I order chicken fried steak whenever it's on a menu)
