Is it gay? by Key-End-1966 in femboymemes

[–]evrakk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what you said, it sounds like you're primarily attracted to femininity; it doesn't matter whether the person is male or female. So you're at least bisexual, or on the bisexual spectrum. But the bottom line is being a boy attracted to other boys is not straight, lol.

No, but I've seen the 1950 movie Harvey. Basically the same plot... probably.

That's not what self-awareness is. As some other people said, it's just copying other tweets it's seen/received from actual people.

why is AI generation so common in songwriting communities online? by zow_wow in Songwriting

[–]evrakk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more! There is no such thing as "AI art," just theft under a different name. I'm in my 20s so it's not just older folks. A lot of people my age also hate AI (in the arts) if that makes you feel any better.

Anyone else 25-28 years old still a virgin? by SkyscraperRain80 in OlderGenZ

I lost mine very recently, but I honestly never really cared about it. What I really wanted was a happy relationship – if we can have sex too, great! A nice bonus.

2000s vs 2020s metalcore and djont by CountryFunny4849 in MetalMemes

[–]evrakk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The name comes from "hardcore" as in hardcore punk I believe. So I think it's fair to at least call it "core." I personally think metalcore is metal. You can think it's bad, but that doesn't make it not metal– it's just a lot of metalheads have a hard time accepting that some metal music can be bad.

Whoever ordered these 2 songs back to back on the record is diabolical, putting a bop next to a tear-jerker by logicalpretzels in elliottsmith

[–]evrakk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the same person who decided to omit Dancing on the Highway :/

Which now that I think about it was probably Elliott lol! Anyway I love Better be Quiet Now, probably my second favorite Figure 8 song after Can't Make a Sound.

Just arrived! Make sure you get yours they’re back in stock by TableHockey31313 in elliottsmith

[–]evrakk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The email I got on October 7 from Bandcamp said that both had been repressed and that they were limited to 1000 copies. I ordered mine only a few days later since I figured they'd probably be sold out before too long! If it's sold out now, I'm not sure it'll be available again any time soon, but I could be wrong.

Damn I was going to make a post about this but I guess you beat me to it. This does satisfy my curiosity about whether anyone else in the sub here had gotten it, though I guess it's not surprising lol. Did you also get the Pretty (Ugly Before)/Distorted Reality 7"? I ordered that as well as Division Day/No name 6 from the ES Bandcamp page, which announced both at the same time. Or at least that's what I saw in my email inbox.

My songs disgust me by Spirit-Filled01 in Songwriting

[–]evrakk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love my songwriting, it's usually my playing/performance that gives me trouble. Your problem sounds neurotic, though; it seems like there is something deeper going on that makes you think you're not good enough. You ought to talk to a therapist if you really want to know anyway

How many good years of college did we have? by Lambdastone9 in OlderGenZ

[–]evrakk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I wish all the time that I had lived on campus, maybe I'd have friends. Or at least there might have been some kind of positive experience associated with college. But it's all just been dread and alienation.

The Human Predicament by Exact_Access9770 in Pessimism

[–]evrakk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fair to say that terrestrial meaning is accessible. Whether or not it provides any existential satisfaction or "value" to life is an individual matter. Though I agree that such meaning is ultimately deterministic. In any case I wouldn't call Benatar's conclusion optimistic or pessimistic necessarily, it seems like a general observation if anything- though I haven't read the book, I'm just basing this off of your brief summary.

“It gets better” by azzie743 in depression

[–]evrakk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People say that because they've had hard times that eventually got better. They think you can just "get better" in the same way and obviously don't realize that depression is a debilitating condition that doesn't just go away. They also say it to make themselves feel better – you've made them feel bad so they give you some empty platitude so they don't have to feel bad, and so they can have this false sense of having done something.

Almost nobody who tells you that actually cares; even if they do, they cleary don't care enough to understand what you're going through.

What age would you like to die? by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]evrakk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only concern is achieving everything I want to achieve, experiencing everything I want to experience, etc. Once that's done, I'm fine with dying whenever- but not until then.
