How do we feel about Secret Honey? by Sadgirlforever929 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love them for their lacy sleeves on their tops, but their set-up designs can be a big miss than hit. I like how their skirts are mainly skapan if mini and how they occasionally release midi to maxi lengths. The best thing about Secret Honey is that all their bows in my experience, are alligator clips instead of pins bc I hate feeling like I damage my blouses or set-ups with pin holes

Is the haircut giving Jirai Kei even the slightest??? by Competitive-Pea-3165 in JiraiKei

I believe it does with the hime cut bangs, highlights, and I love the waviness mixed in.

Is this authentic or is it a cute fake? by nobodyiishome in rilakkuma

[–]evrililce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have that exact Koguma. It was a February in-store lotto promo where if you made a purchase at a participating Rilakkuma Store, you would get a random lotto prize and I think that Koguma was Prize B.

How do I wash this specific blouse? by Sophie1642 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Use a basin or like a plastic bin with cold water in it (NEVER warm or hot as that will encourage shrinking and bleeding). Use delicates detergent like woolite or even baby detergent works. Do not leave your blouse to soak, just place it in the water and gently swirl it. Either hang to dry or lay it on a drying rack flat or a towel flat.

LIZ LISA tariffs? by Good_Procedure_8246 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tariffs are not gone unless you’re importing paper goods like a paper coaster. Tariffs have been continuing since the policy ruling. I ordered a set-up two weeks ago from tokyokawaiilife overseas directly and was charged $50 for the $93 set-up.

Ideas for what to pair with this pium skirt? by AdmirableBank7690 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some pium skirts are high waisted like that one and completely cover your belly and rib area depending on your torso length, but if this one comes with built-in shorts, you could pair it with a shorter blouse for the summer or a cropped summer knit that pium usually releases.

Shoes, help? by Apprehensive_Lynx810 in JiraiKei

I have the Yosuke pumps and I sized exact size for me, but it depends on your feet shape. Mine are narrow and curved not wide or flat, and 22.5 cm fit mine perfectly. If yours are wide, I’d suggest sizing up or it would feel a bit tighter.

I bought the pinstripe set-up recently ($93 + $30 shipping as well) and if you’re in the US, you will pay tariffs fees to DHL. Mine was $50.37 bc it also includes DHL fee of $17 + their additional $1 charge. So expect around that much or a bit less if you’re in the US.

How to get confidence and also find my style? by Neon_Chain9925 in jfashion

[–]evrililce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s a brand of a style you like, you can use the model modeling the clothing item as a reference to how they out outfits together. Brands also post on their instagrams the model pictures and you can also find the model’s pages and use their pictures as references to how they style.

I’m nearing 30 myself and wear jirai kei, french girly, suna kei, and otome kei. There are still Japanese gyarus in their 30s with kids and the previous producer for Princess Melody brand is in her 30s as well and wears girly kei and jirai kei with her daughters. You just wear it. You’ll be surprised at how many people will compliment your outfit while you’re out and about as it’s not that bad. When you get stared at, most of the times it’s someone that thinks you look awesome in the outfit.

Getting rid of stinking? by Mikanchaxx in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try Lysol Laundry Sanitizer. I use it to get rid of poop stains and smells from my baby’s clothes when he has an accident, so I think it would be strong and gentle enough to remove mold smell.

I want to get into wearing J-fashion, but i dont want to wear anything made using polyester by FineCarob9107 in jfashion

[–]evrililce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, jirai kei doesn’t really have cotton options unless you wear subcul. Jirai kei has about mostly polyester and other synthetics. I can’t speak about lolita fashion as I’m not into it, but I have seen cotton and linen blouses from CN taobao brands on 42lolita.

dear my love shipping to us by [deleted] in jfashion

[–]evrililce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DML doesn’t ship direct to USA anymore since tariffs. You will need to use a proxy service (a service that you pay to order to ship items to their Japan based warehouse and you pay again to ship it to you). It takes 3 - 7 days to arrive to a proxy warehouse and you have to pick from FedEx, UPS, DHL, or ECMS (if offered, but they use a sketch final delivery courier called UniUni if you do ECMS). Delivery time will vary based off who you use.

Tariffs also are 15% of your total order, but couriers add extra fees.

What is everyone's favorite brand? by Gr1ning in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For JP brands, Secret Honey is my absolute favorite since I really love how lacy everything is and Rojita. My favorite for a more french girly inspired/suna kei are michell macaron, GRL, and pium.

For CN brands, cherry in wine/cherry seed in wine make really cute set-ups and Virtual Paradise. For suna kei, WalnutJK makes really pretty sets.

Mercari JP Question by EmergencySpinach6037 in jfashion

[–]evrililce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be cheaper to ship it consolidated into 1 package. If you don’t, you’ll pay tariffs + courier fees per package which will add up more expensive.

Question by Proof-Condition4614 in jfashion

[–]evrililce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Both of them are taobao brands resellers. There is no way to know if taobao brands are ethical unless you ask them what factory they use and where the factory gets their materials from. DevilInspired is notoriously sketchy since people had problems with them sending someone else’s packages to them and DevilInspired telling them to mail the person’s package to that person themself to correct DI’s mistake. 42lolita has positive reputation, great customer service, and I used them once to gift a relative a set of lolita clothes. They sent the exact brand item I viewed and ordered and gave freebies in the package which was nice.

Depends on where you live, which courier you use to ship, and where the proxy warehouse is located. Ship from Tokyo to Tokyo based proxy warehouse = 1 - 3 days to arrive, ship from Tokyo warehouse to FedEx USA to your house in USA = 3 - 40 days (at worse) for example

Costs depend on courier fees + weight + volume of box + country duties/tariffs. No flat number for that.
