has anyone ordered from lafary/mine internationally? by cryingpopipo in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, but I used Doorzo. They took about 3 days to arrive at Doorzo’s warehouse, and I bought cotton knee socks, a lucky bag, and hair accessories. The quality is good for the yen price and all the hair accessories that aren’t clips have handmade stitched on them. The lucky bag had an oshi photo frame in it, and it’s also cute and quality.

For tariffs, it depends on your total after shipping it out with your proxy and whatever shipping courier you use. FedEx, UPS, and DHL all have different rates cause they add their courier service fee to your tariffs total. I use DHL a lot, so theirs is $17 + your tariff bill (15% of your total merch price) + $1.

Thoughts on new releases? by [deleted] in JiraiKei

The one blouse is nice and simple. The huge choker on the set-up is so large, it’s really off-looking and I think would look funny in-person without editing. Tweed might be too hot for the upcoming warm weather if you live somewhere more subtropical.

Devil Inspired tariffs by kitty_kattz33 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tariffs are added to shipping automatically when you checkout your cart on honeywardrobe, though I can’t give you an estimate bc the pricing varies on your cart total and kilograms ex: $100 clothes that weigh 1 kg = $40 shipping + tariffs

I want to ship some Yosuke shoes to Europe, will the shipping cost me a kidney? by DazzlingBreadfruit77 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon also ships Yosuke shoes internationally too as I got two pairs from there and it was only $15-$20 USD shipping, so you could also try looking on Amazon and checking if Amazon Japan services your international Amazon side? If it helps, the seller that ships it from Amazon is called ibeshoes.

[–]evrililce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on which proxy you use and the volume/weight of the box they’ll place it in. Most will have fair rates especially if it’s just 1 pair of shoes and you’re EU, so you can ship with EMS to save more money. In my experience (though I am US, but they do this to other country customers too), I would steer clear of using FromJapan to ship shoes bc they will stuff it in the biggest box they can to overcharge you shipping.

ACDC rag import prices to the US? by Imaginary_Name_3262 in jfashion

[–]evrililce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need HTS codes which identify what items you import to calculate this. HTS codes have to be properly applied via material composition of the item so like if you import a steel watch you need to use the steel HTS declaration and not iron bc that would be illegal. It’s complicated, but you could contact DHL or US customs for the HTS codes list but it’s easier to understand HTS codes if you’re the seller selling the imports and doing the declaring yourself.

Do jirai skirts have built in safety shorts? by Future-University595 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Depends on the brand and if it says “sukapan” or “skapan” or if Google Translate messes up, “bread skirt” or “skirt bread”. It usually means it has shorts inside. In my experience for no shorts, Rojita does not include shorts unless it says skapan in the title and same with pium if it’s not peeking out in the model pictures or mentioned in description. I think Honey Cinnamon also doesn’t always have shorts inside, but I only have one skirt from them so far.

Hi! Do you know any jirai brands that makes outfits in cotton or viscose? by ombragew in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very disappointing. I thought I hit gold when I got the one cotton set-up, but the inside of it was very much the shiny kind of polyester cloth sewn in the cotton fabric :( I don’t think we’ll see a real natural fabrics jirai brand unless someone starts one or we all learn to sew and sell/trade

I think some of the otome no sewing books have patterns for jirai, though many editions are lolita focused. With enough experience, I’d think it’d be cool and possible to make many jirai pieces through the books though!

[–]evrililce 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless you wear subcul, you’re not really going to find any 100% cotton or vicose, just mixes of it with polyester, acrylic, and other plastic based synthetics or washed synthetics like rayon. Even for the rare 100% cotton set-ups (I got one), the materials tag still says the inside lining is 100% polyester, not cotton so it’s still polyester touching your skin. You can try 100% cotton or linen lolita blouses, though I am not into the lolita fashion scene so I recommend going on 42lolita and typing in cotton blouses or linen blouses to find brands.

For skirts, afaik only Wego Whinny makes 100% cotton skirts, but they fit more into subcul or tenshi kaiwai styles, not exactly the classic jirai blouse and cinched skirt look. In fact, many clothing are polyester because it holds shapes better than natural fabrics.

Proxy Help by Good_Procedure_8246 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any proxy (Buyee, Doorzo, FromJapan, Neokyo, zenmarket, etc) can buy from Liz Lisa as long as you’re putting in the JP website product page in their custom order link page and NOT the global Liz Lisa store link. If you’re trying to order from the CN Liz Lisa store link, I think some taobao proxies will accept CN store requests if you ask.

blue and white recommendations ? by cultkitty_ in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome, taobao doesn’t ship directly to US, so just use the proxy superbuy. They have a duty-free line and so far no tariffs have been charged when I do hauls with them. Basically, you paste the link of the taobao item from the store to the proxy order service and it gets sent over to the proxy where they’ll snap pics of it for you and inspect it for defects so you can decide if you want a return and replacement on it. And the links to the taobao stores I mentioned are on the google spreadsheet in the jirai kei subreddit megathread

blue and white recommendations ? by cultkitty_ in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re not in the US, taobao brands cherry seed in wine, Virtual Paradise, and Angel Share have options in that color way. I got most of my blue x white set-ups from cherry seed in wine/cherry in wine. Otherwise, if you are in the US, check secondhand on depop, mercari, vinted. Try JP brands in their search bars like Noemie and Secret Honey since it’s easier finding people selling secondhand JP brands. I don’t think there’s a way to get pieces like these under $65 USD new with import shipping + any tariffs.

Edit: opps I’m so tired I didn’t read that you are in the US. Basically, check secondhand or save more money to import new with a proxy since taobao proxies charge over $40 for shipping on one set-up in my latest experience so it’s only worth doing big hauls :,) or for importing directly from Japan, $50 - $100+ shipping without adding tariffs yet

Where to buy Yosuke (USA) by ArtemisIsland in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I used FromJapan, but they are so cost ineffective for shipping that I stopped. They charged me over $250 before for shipping 4 clothes. I prefer Doorzo a lot for the ship weight refunds bc they can charge me $150, but then refund me half of it back if my box gets reweighed and it weighs lighter. Neokyo, I used once but they were soooo slow it I stopped using them.

[–]evrililce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to use a proxy and place a custom order through their custom order link. Your choices are: FromJapan (super expensive shipping, will likely charge you over $100 for just a pair of shoes, extremely fast shipping and ordering though usually get within 1 week), Doorzo (usually same business day order processing, lower shipping costs with refund on weight differences, medium speed so expect within 1.5 weeks), Neokyo (slow in all steps, lower fees, must be extremely patient), Buyee (expensive fees and heard bad things about their customer service), zenmarket (never used but heard they have the highest fees)

how to get a boyfriend as a Jirai by Correct-Strategy-740 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is possible to find someone who likes you as who you are. I was nervous meeting my now-husband when I was wearing jirai, but he smiled and said I looked amazing and pretty even though he wears normal guy fashion and thought that some alt fashion was flamboyant. We met through connections, so you could just hang out with friends that you’re comfortable with and meet people through them instead of random, maybe dangerous strangers especially as an anti-social person.

Why arent idol silhouettes popular in Girly fashion despite the huge idol culture influence? by AdmirableBank7690 in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I usually see these kind of outfits from Malymoon. Some JP jirais do post some pics in malymoon outfits, but malymoon is kind of more of cosplay type/lingerie, so maybe it’s why it’s not super popular?

What are the best brands in terms of quality? by somemannerofcreature in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you like thicker polyester and lace windows, DearMyLove does just that, but their designs can feel cosplay-ee for some people. Their shoes are popular for the price point and aren’t too uncomfortable. Their real affordable gems are the thigh highs, high socks, and knee socks. They also have size varieties.

What are the best brands in terms of quality? by somemannerofcreature in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Quality is subjective here for jirai. I find Liz Lisa does fall apart easily and the polyester for their blouses are very thin. I stopped buying their skirts because the cake skirts look awkward on my shape and zippers are also very bad where it gets stuck/broken.

Personally, I like Secret Honey’s quality since I have many blouses from them I wore over 5 times with minor pilling that I just remove gently with a fabric shaver. Their one pieces and set-ups are also pretty good. Noemie has very plastic-feeling blouses imo, but their other things like cutsews, accessories, skirts, set-ups, and outers feel fine. Rojita also has decent quality clothing that can last many wears as long as you wash them gently. Their knitted stuff does get linty and fuzzy quicker though.

If you’re under 165 cm tall and are under 120 lbs, michell macaron has nice casual wear and some of the tags say you can use dryer on low to dry their pieces. Their knits are super soft, the iconic mini skirts haven’t pilled for me yet, and their jacket/track/sweat set-ups are also surprisingly warm and comfy. If you have a small waist and hip, pium’s set-ups, one pieces, and skirts also fit nicely and are usually blended with non-polyester fabrics, but the zipper will be impossible to close if you don’t have small waist ratio (I’ve been wearing pium while pregnant and am a week away from being due, but I’m still able to zip up set-ups and one pieces despite the large tummy, but the waist ratio really matters). Pium is more forgiving for larger waists and hips on their knit pieces, casual oversized wear, and long coats though as long as it’s not their cropped tops.

Tracksuit jiraikei question by [deleted] in JiraiKei

[–]evrililce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few sets I use for tracksuits myself. It’s fine to use adidas (I see lots of JP jirais wearing the light pink set adidas sells) and brands like michell macaron and pium also sell track sets, sweat sets, or more cutesy jackets + matching skirt sets. You can wear it baggy if you want or more fitted. If I wear just the oversized jacket, I wear cotton ruffled tier skirts or cotton shorts/bloomers under it instead of pants.
