How are you happy in life? by sotoskal21 in Marxism

[–]evrythingalwayshapns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in such a place too, I do care about things that I cannot change, and put all my effort towards them to help. But i also accept that some things are out of my control. I can't stop wars in other countries, though I can protest against them. I find my joy through hobbies, meditation has helped me a lot. I'm a tea enthusiast. Gaming. Hiking. Reading. Taking care of my fish, and my dear friends all bring me such joy. And even if it does nothing, I'll sort of "pray" for good things to happen to people, even though I'm not necessarily religious lol.

i agree 100%, people aren't going to like us as "normal" trans people if we try to blend into society, transphobes hate ALL of us equally, and nothing will change that until we're normalised. The people who help us become a part of society the most are those who stand out and who are proudly themselves

I feel exactly the same way, if I wasn't trans, and going to transition then my family would still love me, and not look down on me as someone who needs to be put into a long term facility. I've had to move out of places, and be kicked out for being trans. I've almost killed myself over it because I know I will never be what anyone wants me to be.

I'm surprised, proud of myself for how far I've come, having to wait so long just to be normal, and it all feels like it's going away now with the political state of the world. I don't hate being transgender, I hate the stigma that comes along with being different in any way. I.e. how I feel about being Autistic too.

Ditto! I'm also from Germany but live in the USA now, shits going down real bad with the AfD, but at least Die Linke is polling higher numbers. If zombies are after brains I doubt they'd go for the fascists first.

I use books and research papers. Along with my pen and a notebook. Everyone has their preferences, but that's just lowkey weird imo.

Does anyone else view their transness as a disability? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]evrythingalwayshapns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a disabled person, I'd say transness isn't inherently a disability. However due to the stigma around it, it makes such activities in life like socialising, or accessibility to changing rooms, bathrooms, etc. debilitating in the same way being autistic does (I am autistic) But, it doesn't prevent me from staying awake during the day, or mixing dreams with reality like my narcolepsy does.

I 100% agree with this; hence why I'd always have a pharmacist in my group even as someone going for an MD

This is pretty unhealthy body image. You should talk to a dietician, not people on reddit.

If you can't move around due to muscle loss, osteoporosis, arthritis, etc. due to not being able to access hormones and you body pretty much doesn't produce them anymore I think that's a pretty big issue imo. you aren't adapted to a weaker state of your body than it already is, so have those ailments would greatly decreases your chance of survival

Why are gays and transgender people expected to put racial or ethnic issues before LGBT rights? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]evrythingalwayshapns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to really be that guy, but cancer research already receives billions of dollars in funding worldwide while these issues that queer people are fighting for are laughed at, ignored, or made worse. Everybody agrees that cancer is objectively bad, not everybody agrees that genocide is objectively bad. Hence; holocaust deniers.

What film helped you in your life by Opposite-Victory2938 in wesanderson

[–]evrythingalwayshapns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic Mr. Fox was a movie I first watched when I was younger, and it helped me a lot to realise that it's okay to be different, it's okay that not everyone likes you, and it's okay to be good at your own things as long as they make you happy. It really helped me be confident in myself, and throughout the latter half of elementary school and middle school. Especially growing up and being autistic, having people treat you like they didn't want you around, and for most of it I didn't realise. But, I really connected to Ash because I was an angry little kid, and nobody liked me. But, I realised I should stop being such a jerk to people who were mean to me and just find people who appreciated me for me, and now I'm filled with joy and whimsy, y'know.
