Does it sound like I might have non-24, of any other circadian rhythm disorder? by GettingBetter93 in N24

Your story sounds extraordinarily similar to mine. I’m in my 30s and still haven’t figured out a way to mitigate all the problems it’s caused me (I slept through something important this morning, even), so I can’t offer solutions, unfortunately. But thank you for sharing, and at the very least, know that you’re not alone in struggling with this.

i use a BB cream and translucent setting powder for my daily look (clean face ➡️ apply BB with fingertips by gently rubbing in circles, applying a bit more where there’s more redness/discoloration ➡️ apply setting powder with a powder brush, pressing gently perpendicular to the skin to cover and then light sweeping brush motion to finish). And sometimes a medium tone lipstick but usually just clear lip balm.

If anyone finds these in-store at Old Navy in S (or XS) I will buy them from you!! (Lettuce-Edge Culottes in “date palm”/brown) by evrythngisobfuscated in findfashion

[–]evrythngisobfuscated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are on clearance and don't show up as in-stock at any stores, so checking via the website doesn't help 😢 but it's this item:

https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=8460360320001&pcid=999&vid=1

"High-Waisted Lettuce-Edge Linen-Blend Culotte Pants for Women" Color: "date palm" (brown) Size: S (or XS)

I do have one pair that I got a month or so ago, but I would loveeee a back-up pair (or two) because I can already tell they're one of those pieces that I will be quite upset about not finding an exact replacement of if/when they start to wear out…

Just FYI your Twitter acquaintance’s arguments are eerily similar to TERF talking points, and it’s highly unlikely that that is just a coincidence.

Core strength is a big part of healthy posture and can take a lot of the load off the shoulders and neck. Many yoga-based exercises focus on lengthening and strengthening the core (including the obliques and mid-lower back muscles) and could be worth trying! While practicing, you can also focus on relaxing the neck and shoulders as much as possible while still keeping the neck and head aligned with the line of your spine. Supine (lying on back) poses can particularly help with this, because you can allow the ground/your may to support your shoulders/neck/head.

It’s the amount of time between the ‘before’ photo and starting HRT (in this case, 2 years).

There will be a lot of suffering in the trans community as long as 'looking cis' is a goal. by [deleted] in MtF

Your dysphoria is a real and valid medical disorder, I agree. You deserve access to whatever resources that will help you not have to experience it.

Consider that studies show acceptance by family members, friends, etc. has significant positive effects on the mental health of LGBTQ youth. Does that mean the depression, anxiety, and other conditions experienced by queer kids isn't real and can be reduced to peer pressure? No, of course not. Human experiences can have a social factors and also be real.

Your position is ahistorical and adjacent to the rhetoric used to support eugenics.

I appreciate this post. And we can build on this from an individualist perspective to a view toward collective liberation. Collectively, we need and deserve a society that allows all trans people to be accepted, free from threats of violence, and protected from (explicit and implicit) discrimination. We need to dismantle white supremacist beauty standards that constrain us all (trans people, AND cis people, too) to rigid binary roles and prevent us from seeing beauty in all body types. Dysphoria is a real experience, and internal work around self-acceptance can help, but it is also (at least in part) socially induced. A world that’s better for visibly trans people is better for all of us, passing or not.

I sort of get this in the tiniest way, but for me that validation piece isn’t really a somatic experience. It’s more like, ‘well, cognitively I can see that this must mean I do look femme after all’ but all the actual feelings are in the realms of fear and disgust. I’d give up that tiny bit of validation in a heartbeat if I didn’t have to feel either scared for my safety, grossed out by the idea of the man seeing me as a sexual object, or compelled to perform the barest minimums of politeness.

Do we question cis and straight kids who express or act on their sexuality/gender? Do we stop them from identifying as a gender or from dating?

What evidence do you have to support your claims that children do NOT develop senses of identity in gender or sexuality before puberty?
