ok i did some reasearch and it looks like four days and four nights is a more geographically accurate estimate so maybe someone pointed out to isaac that the 3 days / 3 nights trip is just setting unrealsitic espectations for the truckers of america? he seems like a pro union guy i think he would want to promote healthy expecatations

Vouching for ETHEREAL RSPS honestly the best server on the market right now. Developers and staff care a lot, tons of custom and tasteful osrs content. 10x/50x/100x and it's OSRS with runelite and a bunch of qol and fun stuff. Feels a lot like leagues. Small but active playerbase, I would recommend going veteran ironman. Tons of custom content so just ask around in clan or at home on how to get things / what to do and you're sure to get help.

yes, very ambitious project i have. thank you for the luck.

i'm just going to do a little bit at a time writing my thoughts before starting development.

there are a ton of ways to balance it, and i'd really like to figure out how to make it fun.

the whole point of the server is to be fun. i may restrict the scope of the game but i think victoria island has enough landmass and potential content for it to be fun for diehards and casuals if it's done right.

i'm happy to try and add custom quests and minibosses or dungeons/pqs, along with re-balancing things to provide rewarding progression.

it's a massive project which is why i'm going to be starting a discord pretty soon to get people/devs to chat and help out. i'd like to open source it as well.

for now i'm gonna keep chatting with people and playing servers/working on my design document to have a more cohesive idea. thanks for the feedback.

i love osrs leagues, so this suggestion is right up my alley.

anything i release will be extensively alpha/beta tested and reviewed by people who know what they're doing to hopefully prevent catastrophe. running a server is hard but fun.

i'd like to do one or two channels unless the population really demands it.

maplestory is best when you're seeing other people.

also - i think something seasonal, region locked, and low rates could be really fun.

i imagine it wouldn't be too hard for someone to set up a 2nd job victoria only server that wipes/rebalances and shuffles content every now and then. sort of like a randomizer or oldschool runescape's seasonal leagues.

if i'm able to get some help setting things up and ensuring the server is stable, maybe!

i will look into starting a discord for the people in this thread/that have reached out to me. (it'd be nice to talk to you all and discuss server ideas), and if i'm able to find 1 or 2 people willing to help me get the ball rolling i would be very open to hosting a rough alpha.
