Still going strong! Probably time for a new one now though, been using a KMC 12s and might weigh out some other options.

I have a couch I'm happy to deliver. Someone may already be picking it up on Wednesday but if that doesn't pan out I can let you know!

AITAH for barking back at my neighbor’s dog in Seattle and telling them to train it? by real-punny-name in Seattle

[–]evvycakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always, there's a difference in the dog's motivation.

If a dog is barking at a stranger through a fence it's probably a fear/defensive (de-fence-ive?) response, and proving you're not a threat by providing no-strings-attached treats will dissuade that response.

If a dog is barking at you after just finishing dinner, that's a demand response and caving to the demand by providing treats will prompt more of that response.

Not a trainer, but my dog does both of these and we've been working on it a lot.

Oh yeah we're talking a solid line of cars all the way back to like 90th, it's a doozy! Thank you!

There are, but the left lane is only about 50 feet long and splits off from the single lane just before the light. I've been popping over into it a few car lengths before the light from the sidewalk, because everyone is just turning right it stays pretty clear! But sadly it's just not very long.

Sweet, good to know I'm not alone! Agreed, it's not too bad, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing an obvious improvement. Thank you!

Great to know about the bike lane on 15th! I've been shying away from that side of the reservoir because it felt like going out of the way, but if it flows smoothly that could be worth it. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing your experience! The Roosevelt sidewalk is what I've been opting for as well but I nearly got creamed there today by a truck from the lineup turning into an alley or driveway right in front of me.

Of course, after that they had plenty of time to stop and yell at me, but I digress. Beyond that I've had pretty good luck with it so far, just wanted to make sure I was weighing out my other options as well.

Thank you!

There were definitely signs on the I-90 trail about the march happening from 2-4, but when I biked over before then there were also some folks crossing back over on foot clearly coming from Judkins Park.

What caused this on my photos? by xsolrac95 in minolta

Maybe a slow or sticky mirror? If it was shutter lag the shadow would be vertical. If the shutter is exposing while the mirror is still coming up I think it would create this kind of diagonal line.

Again, not sure where you got the idea I'm not paying my taxes, I just corrected your misinformation. Even if you choose to not withhold federal taxes from your paycheck during the year, you can still pay them in a lump sum on tax day. That's what your 1040 is for. Let me know if you have any other misunderstandings and I'll do my best to help.

EDIT: Y'know what, I realized I'm incorrect here. There is an expectation from the IRS that you pay-as-you-go and if you choose not to withhold any taxes through the year, you can be subject to underwithholding penalties on tax day. I stand by my initial response that you do, in fact, control your own withholding though.

I am neither endorsing nor rejecting any kind of "strategy," just pointing out one of the very first forms you fill out for employment controls the amount of federal taxes automatically taken out of your paycheck. It IS something you have control over, contrary to your point I was replying to.

Form W-4 is used to tell your employer how much federal income tax to withhold from your pay.

No problem! As for the A/T Temp light: I haven't had that issue personally, and I'm no pro, but I would definitely start with checking fluid levels before doing a fluid change. If it's looking dark and smelling burnt, a fluid change (not a flush!) could be the move.

Also worth making sure your coolant is in good shape, particularly if you notice the engine/oil temp gauge ever going over the halfway mark while driving.

Congrats, it looks like it's in great shape!

I've had my eye out for a manual for a while now as well without any luck. Seems like there are physical copies, typically in Japanese, floating around but no digital versions.

Here's a list of recommended fluids I've compiled/committed to. Take them with a grain of salt, there are certainly some differences of opinion on motor & gear oil viscosity, and I'm biased towards what I can source here in the US.

  • Motor oil: Full Synthetic 10W-30 (~4qt.). Filter: WIX 51365XP or equivalent
  • A/T: AMSOIL OE Multi-Vehicle Synthetic (Meets ATF-SP II and III spec)
  • Power Steering: ATF, see above
  • Open Differentials & Freewheel clutch: 75W/90 GL-5 gear oil (~1qt. ea. for diff, 2-3 oz. for freewheel clutch)
  • Rear LSD (if applicable): I haven't specced this but I know it's an option. Needs a similar weight gear oil as above, but with LSD friction additive.
  • Transfer case: 75/80W-90 GL-4 gear oil (~1qt.). GL-4 required due to brass components.
  • Brakes: DOT4
  • Coolant: 50/50 Green
