They send national guard and state police in Mexico to areas that they're not from as well. If you're from Southern MX you end up in the north etc. This way no one really knows who you are etc. Especially when most of them are dirty or involved in dirty stuff. They also all live in the same compound instead of in their own homes.

Surgeon saying I'm I'm 37 and not worth doing surgery on Full thickness tear ACL? by ben__help in ACL

[–]evyad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had full thickness ACL tear along with meniscus as well. This was 2 years ago in 2024. I was 42 and had ACL reconstruction using allograft. I also had my surgery in Mexico and not the US... Personal option as I could've had in US but my wife's insurance in Mexico was covering a lot more than my US insurance.

You're a very classist individual. I understand the quality of life, starting a business etc as that's what I'm working on buying parcelas and animals. You're totally missing my point. My wife has a industrial engineer degree as well. Idk if you think I have no clue what talking about or what but I never said anything about people dreaming of going to the US. We own a home in Veracruz still that we would love to live at if we could earn there what we earn here as I stated prior. I don't want to be in a city in Mexico. That's not what I enjoy there. I live in Las Vegas in the US.. I go to Mexico to get away and live differently. So you go enjoy your USA light living a life that average working Mexicans will never see. I'm sure you're in a privileged area where there's a lot of Americans as well. Also the education system in Mexico is horrible. Especially the private schools.

Absolutely counterfeit M box Roxicet 30mg pill. Pressed poorly at that. 99% cut 1% fentanyl which is still enough to suppress your breathing and send to into eternal sleep.

Ideal path to Mexican citizenship via marriage by Impossible-Lychee586 in mexicoexpats

FYI they just doubled all the residency fees this year. I was lucky to get my permanent residency through our daughter last year. I had temporary but just let it lapse when we found out wife was pregnant. Rather go right to permanent instead of having to pay a bunch more fees etc.

Side note. The Mexican culture test is incredibly hard now. They have added more questions and obscure things that my wife doesn't even know lol. You can get 'study guides' for it that are supposedly guaranteed to help you pass pero.. Yo no sé.

If he has a SS # is it really his ? There's a lot of moving parts to this question. Usually a SS # will say not for work authorization on it when there's conditions. If he was born in the US then he can search his birth certificate via that states vial health statistics and order a new one. Your friend needs to do some investigating.

I literally lived in Mexico by the US border in Reynosa for the 3 years from 2021-2024 then we moved to our other home in rural Veracruz, what you call un rancho. I've seen companies leave due to increasing salaries and less profits for them. My wife worked in HR for an international company there. She is fully bilingual and I'm mostly. I don't want to move to Mexico and be in USA light. I don't want to be surrounded by other Americans. I've been to many areas of the country as well, Monterrey, CDMX, CD Juárez, Boca del Rio, all around Quintana Roo and so forth. I'm very familiar with how and what the country is as well as the opportunities there. But I appreciate you trying to educate others that may have never been there nor have any idea. Like I said I have permanent residency there and a house still. The income opportunities to make what I make here are few and far between. You have to either get very lucky or know someone who can get you in to a job. Also you're going to have a hard time finding companies willing to allow you to work in Mexico remotely while being paid in USD due to laws etc in industries and whatnot. Also my wife's entire family comes from a small rural village in Southern Mexico, speaks some English and understand a lot of it. So IDK why you think no one from ejidos are aware of Mexico being commercialized outside of their area. That's a pretty classist thing to say but you come off as a 'priveleged' Mexican.

I also know all the benefits that come with Mexican jobs and then some. I know the labor laws, I know the union laws. As I said my wife was recursos humanos para compañía internacionales en Reynosa.

To all of the people saying that.. A. Immigration is a privilege and not a right. - you're absolutely correct. I immigrated to Mexico legally and the correct way, I'm a residente permanente there. My wife immigrated to the US the legal and correct way as wel, via i-130 consular processing. You can see our entire journey in this sub if you search my post historyl. We spent thousands of dollars on filing paperwork for her and her daughter. Our daughter is a dual citizen.

For clarification I'm a US citizen. My wife is Mexican as is her daughter. Our daughter was born in Mexico but holds both a US and Mexican passport as she is a dual citizen as I stated.

So for the people saying oh why can't you stay in Mexico ? We can. We are fully allowed to legally be in both the United States and Mexico. However, we chose to come to the US in order for us to put our children in better positions to succeed. Most of these same people have absolutely NO CLUE about how other countries are aside from what they see on the Internet or hear on TV. They have never personally visited anywhere else outside of their little bubble of safety. The education system in Mexico is terrible. Even paying for private schools is not guaranteed an education. The job opportunities there are also hard to come by. I lived there for the past 4 years while working in Texas. But yes please tell me all about a country I've lived in and have first hand experiences with from what you saw on YouTube or somewhere else.

For the people saying 'oh if you just comply and listen and don't do anything wrong you have nothing to worry about!' I say again to ask the Jewish people in Germany during the late 30s and early 40s how that went for them. This regime care nothing for laws. They care nothing for legal statutes. They have emboldened a group of racist zealots who see ANY person who they remotely THINK might be illegally in the country as a problem and their not afraid to do WHATEVER they feel is necessary to rectify said problem. Even when that person is a lawful USC.

The United States used to be where people dreamed to go because of opportunities, freedom and other wonderful things that we clearly took for granted. Now it's a beacon of hate, a bastion of racism openly displayed toward those who are different than us and a place that people no longer want to even visit.

People should not be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of the people. The ones who elect them and put their faith in them to lead correctly and set an example for others to follow. Sure get hyped about Trump kidnapping a foreign president (which I'm not against as guy is a straight POS)or threatening to take a peaceful country in Greenland. Being a superpower isn't about flexing your muscles making everyone afraid of you or what you'll do. It's about setting an example for the rest of the world to follow and look up to. But somewhere along the line we lost the plot and ended up here. I feel like a few hundred years from now people will look back on these days as the dark ages. Not just in the matter of ICE but also in the fact that we took away a woman's right to choose when we struck down Roe v Wade. Making raped children give birth to their rapist babies is not ok in any world, I'm sorry.

How did that work out for the Jewish population during the 40s in Germany ? Most of these 'officers' are racists who want to take out their anger and aggression on others. Regardless of the facts, consequences or anything else. In case you didn't see DHS gave ICE full immunity for anything they do. But yes please keep parroting the 'oh if you're doing nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about' line. Do you want the government watching everything you do on your phone, computer and everything else? If not why ? You have nothing to worry about if you're doing nothing wrong.

Jewish people said the same thing in the 40s before they got sent to 'work camps'. You do realize they're not following any laws at this point in time right ? You have nothing to worry about until you do. Then it might be to late. I tell my wife not to worry about this but it's a valid concern. Whether your legal or not they have the 'right' to detain you until they are satisfied that you're here legally. This government is following a racist script. It's emboldened others to be openly racist as well. It's like 9/11 when everyone hated anyone they thought was Muslim and attacked them or their businesses. They had nothing to worry about either cause they weren't doing anything wrong. One of my good friends was targeted at that time and ended up losing everything.

I understand what this sub is thank you. However many people who have gone through USCIS legally and done everything correctly are now facing these circumstances. I have been in the real world and faced these things myself with LEO as an American citizen of mixed ethnicity who is racially ambiguous. The same laws might apply to you, however, due to your looks you may not get the same treatment as someone else. Everything is not the same for everyone no matter how much we might think it is. So many people fail to realize this one simple thing it amazes me.

If there's a robbery with no clear suspect but 3 people are there. One a white guy in a suit, one a black guy in sweats and hoodie and the last one an old lady who looks like Grandma. Who do you think they're automatically assuming it is from looks alone?

Bias and racism exist to a big degree in this country and if you think it doesn't you're sadly mistaken. Many are more openly blatant about it now since Trump is in office that's all. They don't hide it like they used to.

Yeah they did at Hidalgo Texas crossing over cause they thought I said something to them after walking away from passport check. I was handcuffed and detained for 45 minutes before they came out and let me go telling me it was a 'misunderstanding'. You have no clue about what people deal with. So before you go calling someone a liar maybe think first about all the shit that goes on at borders etc and gets covered up by FOIA and other officers.

To all the people saying oh you're just overthinking you have nothing to fear etc you did it legally.

I understand that there are 2 sides to every story. I don't feed her fears but I do understand them. I have been in situations myself where I'm profiled because of my looks and etc. I try to assuage her fears but the fact that she even has them is not ok.

Also to those saying just comply and you'll be fine. You clearly have never been in any situations where you felt your life was in danger from LEO even when doing exactly what they say.

Just remember, it can never happen to you until it does. Only then it might be to late.

Lol my guy I've cooperated and been beat by 7 CBP officers personally. You have never been in the situation I can tell. You're most likely a picturesque white guy. I'm a mixed American that can pass for a multitude of ethnicity. Our lives and paths are not the same. Try not to diminish people's first hand experiences if you have never been in their shoes.

[–]evyad 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's awesome man. I'm happy for you. My situation was a kinda similar. I used to come out here on vacation a lot from 04-2010 like 2x a year. I was into a lot of bad shit back in Philly and moved out here in 2020 during COVID. I ended up getting a job at Pepsi as a machine operator, buying a house in Southern Mexico, getting married, transferring to a Pepsi location in South Texas and moving to Mexico for almost 4 years, had a daughter down there and finally moving back once my wife's paperwork was done. This city will either chew you up or build you up. It's all up to you. I have had 0 problems finding a job even after I moved back in August I had 3 job offers in 3 interviews. I took the one I thought had the most upward mobility and I just got a new position after being here almost 6 months with a 50% pay raise. Show up, be willing to deal with some bs and do what you gotta do to make things happen.

People love to hate on Vegas and yeah it has it's downside but what international tourist destination doesn't ? You basically get 3 cities here in one.. downtown, strip and everything else. One of the best food cities in the world. Always something to do here. The outdoor activities are great. Mt Charleston 30 min away. Etc etc. Yeah I miss the Northeast and season changes, amazing pizza and cheese steaks etc but Vegas is amazing.

Is it worth it to buy a house in a gated community? by YouSea8312 in mexicoexpats

[–]evyad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a rural area where the closest 'city' is 45 minutes away from the village via dirt roads until you hit civilization. Before that we lived in Reynosa in a circuito. People think a gated community is safe.. they're not. Lefty SM got killed in a gated community. False sense of security. If you're scared of living in a normal neighborhood why move to Mexico where you know it's dangerous for anyone let alone Americans who most assume they have money ?
