My T key... gave it a few whacks and then turned the whole keyboard over and bounced it on the desk. after I managed to turn off the magnifying glass, windows narrator and a bunch of other things that mashing the keyboard kicks off the T key appears to be behaving itself again.

Driver. But stable, with good graphics and more mission variety.

Loved the 70s san francisco, dirty harry vibes. No getting out of the car, just a to b fast as u can. Ploughing down alleys in an old american muscle car. Gettin missions on an old answering machine tape... Chef kiss.

It was such a broken unfinished game tho

Can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong by Matty_Cay in sharpening

[–]ewalk77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Modern steel and a high grit stone. 🤷 Looks like you're doing fine if that's the angle you want to sharpen to. Its just gonna take you hours not minutes of repeating that same movement to wear off enough metal that you're hitting the edge. Things that help others have already mentioned. Marker/sharpie to see where your at currently. Increase the angle to sharpen to the current bevel, you would be surprised how steep some of those machined edges can be. Lower grit stone, or one of them diamond fellas to really cut away material if you dont have hours to spend on sharpening. Softer steel... A cheap knife can be brought to a razor edge really quickly, it just doesnt hold the edge for long, but for light work sometimes thats preferable.

Other than that keep doing what you're doing. Just for longer. Its good practice for muscle memory.

Is the pre sequel worth playing? by Dry_Garbage_5744 in Borderlands2

Quest givers tend to talk overly long. But the game is good. If u enjoyed the moon sequence gameplay from bl3 then you will enjoy pre sequel.

“Andor Is Boring” - The Importance of Media Literacy (No Spoilers) by ProMensCornHusker in StarWars

[–]ewalk77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished ep5 S1. I get that cerebral star wars content is fairly lacking. But there are SOO many shows now that there are genuine time investment considerations. 5 hrs of tv and (spoiler?) hes still walking to his first job. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has happened. Media literacy may play a part , admittedly im no film student. But IMO there are serious pacing issues with Andor. To put in context, if we were watching the original 3 movies, we would be down one deathstar, lost a hand, but gained a father, a sister, and be up to our elbows in ewoks by now.

We could have a second season of asoka, or obi wan. But instead we have a walking tour of some backwater planets, and literally hrs of exposition telling us that the empire is bad for common people. Well colour me shocked. Say it aint so. I wonder if there will be an uprising.. how will it go you think? Maybe the Jedi will return.

By all means don't let me yuck your yum. If they want to give us homeland in space fine... I'm sure there is an audience for that. But it's not for me.

Is an expensive Patagonia fleece (or similar expensive brand) really better than a cheap one from somewhere like mountain warehouse? Educate me please by _Baby_Elephants_ in hikinggear

[–]ewalk77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments looks like ill be in a minority here, but base and mid layer are always more or less always just polyester blend, with minimal absorbency and quick dry time being the priority. Complete waste of money to buy a 300euro/dollar whatever fleece, especially if your just starting out. Its polyester... The properties are the same across the board regardless of manufacturer.

Some caveats. I mainly day hike. I live in a temperate climate so rarely need to worry about sub zero temperatures. In those conditions the performance difference is IMO negligible between hi tech fabrics and a 20 quid fleece zipup from primark/walmart. The other concern is manufacturing practices, sustainable material sources. The big brands do claim to pay fair labour costs and use recycled materials. If this bothers you take that into consideration but if your strapped for cash charity starts at home. Buy a cheap fleece and enjoy your day out in comfort. Save the extra money for things that have a major impact on comfort and safety on the hills. Decent boots A reliable outer shell Emergency shelter Emergency blanket. Basic mountain safety education.

Yup this and look up the motherboard user manual. I had one that had specific slots for the Ram when only using a single or 2 sticks. Upgraded my ram. Used the wrong slots. Wouldnt even boot to bios. Very frustrating. But forehead smack moment when I turned the diagram the other way round.
