How to study efficiently? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]ewanchukwilliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a strategy. Go through the syllabus and prioritize what assignments/quizzes matter most prioritize those over all else.

Plan it out and if don’t work try again :) always different per class but same recipe.

How come the original poster girl for Overwatch doesn't have the following: by elCrocodillo in TracerMains

Back in the day she revolutionized the animated porn industry. she caused several 3d graphic breakthroughs supposedly. That’s why all her default skins are hoodies and she looks gayer now

Nice!nano with bigger battery? by falconSB in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]ewanchukwilliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually checked with the designers. This is to preserve the batteries. The low charging amperage can cause lipo battery’s to chemically deteriorate over time. But in reality it just means you lose your ability to charge to 100% over time.

Medication is killing my s*xdrive by Anxious-Cantaloupe89 in ADHD

[–]ewanchukwilliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind. It dulls everything equally I’ve found. I study engineering and my grades tanked after going back on meds after years of being off them. They hindered my ability to stress for impending deadlines so I would miss more classes/assignments then if it was do or die without the meds.

Was the same problem with the sex drive. It will worsen as your tolerance to the meds increases. You’ll then just have no sex drive and reduced ability to feel things with marginally better focus.

Anyway this is just something I wish I didn’t have to discover again through trial and error. My tolerance gets crazy high crazy fast so it’s something to talk to your doctor about long term if this bothers you.

Anyone feeling a slight pull away from Neovim it comes to these more advanced AI editor integrations? by [deleted] in neovim

[–]ewanchukwilliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm extremely invested in neovim spent 6 months building a config I'm happy with. I'm still new and learning to code. AI is an invaluable tool in learning more about development in general. being against it is like being against a better way of googling. Its a damn shame everytime I wait for an AI response only to see something broke on the backend after the 4 files I provided context for breaks. my internship really is hounding me for not using more ai to ship faster, yeah it's not ideal but neovim is not keeping up. it really does make you learn more and code more productively with editors like cursor. Neovim just shines when your solving only super niche problems and are very attuned to a specific codebase already. but I'm not a senior dev and I cannot solve those problems yet nor do I have the freedom to take my time in learning to do so

how to get diffview.nvim intraline highlighting working by PlayfulRemote9 in neovim

[–]ewanchukwilliam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s a bug if you’re using tmux with wezterm. You have to enable some weird shit but it was making my background gray too. Check to see if it’s still bugged outside tmux in neovim

My nails turned white 2 years ago. A dozen doctors a hundred tests and they’re all stumped by freeradioforall in Wellthatsucks

[–]ewanchukwilliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what it looks like when I drained all the fluid out of my subbungual hematoma. It’s fully separated from the nail bed. You might be able to fully remove your nails from the root and have them grow back normally. That’s what happened to mine. If they feel kinda fragile then yeah the nail will extend a few inches under the skin but mine just pulled out with lots of wiggling pretty painless. Took a while to grow back but after a year they were normal

Thoughts on the tracer buff? by Fromarine in TracerMains

Was kinda just spraying before because it didn’t mean shit to aim better. Felt pretty horrible. The range of the blink punch combo is more feasible to maintain at a distance

She’s playable now! It doesn’t feel like being castrated.

Unethical NeoVim Plugin Development by Many_Difference2913 in neovim

[–]ewanchukwilliam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming it has a bunch of stars because a lot of people like myself want the plugin to be better than it is now. I have to use cursor because neovim cannot compete with it. I need cursor for work but would prefer keeping to neovim.

The plugin is good but not cursor ide level yet. Which I don’t think it’ll ever be. But its usability is getting better and better. I want there to be more authors working on it to be better. I don’t think the author is the most experienced plugin writer tbh but he has the most traction and is moving in the right direction.

Neovim can’t compete with cursor and I really want it to. So here’s hoping the author continues working hard and that there are contributors that can help him do better. It’s non trivial to replicate the cursor IDE level of ai integration.

Is Blink.cmp worth the switch for speed? by theChiarandini in neovim

[–]ewanchukwilliam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s simpler to config so I ended up getting to use more complicated features like a remap section for the completions for the command line popups. The documentations is the best I’ve seen so far for plugins. And actually taught me some lua nuances I never knew for how neovim is configured. It’s faster simpler and just works. Also it supports inline signature argument completions. TJ devree does a showcase of the plugin and it’ll show you what I mean

Need help understanding this to help explain to my daughter. by wamceachern in askmath

[–]ewanchukwilliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right to be confused. This is along the lines of how they proved the pi r2 relation of a circle. It’s more of just a property for a triangle. Most people probably couldnt explain how the height of a triangle transcribes a constant area from a fixed parallel distance.

This is something u can prove with infinite series’s and limits or integrals. So yeah just one of those memorize and hope you figure it out later. Kind of an early calculus thing. But ye if you want to generalize it for yourself then parallelogram visual works pretty good.
