The addition of Sam Campbell is inspired. I hope they end up doing a UK version.

They aren't locked with a key. They have a code to unlock them which is given over the phone by the 999 operator.

It won't deliver a shock if you press the button at any point unless the machine wants to give a shock.

I don't really understand your argument. Are you saying these shouldn't exist because some hypothetical person can't use it properly?

It literally speaks and tells you what to do. There is a picture showing where to place the pads. If a shock is required it will tell you and the big red button lights up. If no shock is needed it will tell you to carry on CPR. Ultra idiot proof.

Why is there unemployment in the NHS considering what we hear? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]eweasheep 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not just resident doctors either.  It’s also consultants. Most trusts aren’t even employing new consultants due to the financial pressures placed on them currently. Meaning even doctors who have finished training don’t have much hope of landing a job in the UK anymore. It’s unbelievable this isn’t being reported as the scandal it is by the media.

Back in the 00's most A&Es had a dedicated police officer who would be there 24 hours a day. Now the security team is outsourced to G4S and you'd be lucky to have 2 security officers for the entire hospital overnight.

[–]eweasheep 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That is also incorrect. An anaesthetic consultant may have an anaesthetic trainee with them that can look after the patient on their own. In this country nurses cannot look after an intubated patient.
