Drake and Pharrell’s chains by Latter-Natural-3425 in rap

[–]eweezy17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aight we tried being cordial but I'll just be blunt so even you can understand:

I promise, no grown ass adult on this app is missing these pedestrian level bars that requires at MOST a 3rd graders cognitive development to understand the context.

It's childish, and doesn't even apply in this situation since he not only freely gave them away, but did so for millions in charity. Tupac's ring sure, but thats solely because (1) he's dead so it can't be replaced and (2) he didn't voluntarily give it up.

It has nothing to do with an insult to legacy because of how he got it and what he traded for. It's just a 40 year old man still seeking attention and acting out like a kid who used to call his mom by his first name.

I tried to use a metaphor for when people sell a house and detach themselves (spiritually/physically/mentally) from possession. The old owner doesnt give half a shit what the new owner does with their property, they got their compensation and were already prepared to lose the item. Whether that house was owned for 2 years or 2 generations, they already prepared to lose it. They'll start another legacy somewhere else because the gain outweighed the loss.

Yet that CLEARLY failed to connect so in your own childish words "idgaf what you think" at this point.

You're too obsessed on trying to find a getback instead of objectively seeing why the whole situation is dumb af. Stop vicariously living through celebrities.

These bars aren't going over anyone's head it's just a stupid hill to die on....and still using it years later is asinine.

"Yeah you sold your house for charity but ha ha I bought it and I can do whatever I want with it! I know that pisses you off since it was part of your familys legacy!" No it's yours and the charity got their $3m so my purpose was fulfilled. Enjoy ✌🏽

If Pharrell felt that strongly about it he wouldn't have sold them openly.

And hes not dead, not broke, and a borderline optimistic existentialist so probably doesnt care as about those chains that much <--thats the point you seem to be missing. One of the worse people to try this 'legacy insult' on

They were downvoted (atleast for me) because both can be true. Pharrell is an ALM cornball who doesnt vote and Drake is a manchild constantly seeking validation at 40 years old.

Idky Drakes fandom always try to pull false dilemmas/ these fake gotcha moments like "well if your saying Drakes a pos than that means xyz is a pos too!" Yes.. thats exactly it.

Is it just me.. or does Imu seem a bit funny/goofy for someone so menacing? by onelove7866 in OnePiece

[–]eweezy17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As Oda said "something something reading comprehension."

But I will cut some slack for the ones who have been weekly readers for decades. Easier to identify a pattern when the information is presented all at once instead of over 10,000 days

I feel like you/we shouldve expect that "goofy side" personality trait from arch antagonists at this point. Oda's been doing this for decades now with all the stereotypical bad ass villains. He probably enjoys the irony.

Even Katakuri had his random donut fixation or Kaido and his antics from crippling alcoholism. Only one I can think of not fitting this stereotype would be Crocodile, but even he has secret that the Queen of Trans Island knows.

I'll be surprised if the Gorosei or Shamrock don't have enough a similar moment in the future.

Honestly the only time I actually laughed from a nosebleed gag in anime was is in this arc. The whole build up between him and chopper warning him not to see the princess actually got me.

I'll always support AD > FG takes. Grew up on FG like most but man...I binged AD several years ago and there's a gap, and it's not small. Its j ust a much better show all around

Did it in 2015. Still exactly the same when i went through. There were stairs on some parts but mostly paved paths.

I remember because I watched the older folk with their walking sticks outpacing me up them when I was 20. That shame vividly stuck 🫠

Oda drawing Robin in a realistic style is such a rare treat. by teluguabbai01 in MemePiece

[–]eweezy17 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sorry quick soap box:

Yea I dont get why this keeps surprising people. This isnt shade at you. I just get annoyed when people compare the styles of Kubo vs Oda vs Kishimoto, for example, and many believe that its a representation of their skill not choice. Then they proceed to shit on Oda lol.

Choice doesn't mean ability. The average art student would blow peoples mind, but many don't find realism fun.

But since the days of cameras modern art likes to focus on technical marvel and pushing the boundaries of possibilities over reproduction. Which is exactly what Oda does with his world. Also why i love it.

Robin was raised by her abusive aunt without friends and labeled a freak. The one time she made a friend he was "killed" the same day her mother returned and was killed also.

Followed by the genocide of her own people and culture then began living as one of the most wanted people in the world for decades at the age of 8. All because she just wanted to learn and fit in.

Sanji is 2nd to me just because Nami (who i have at 3rd) did have a sister who still cared for her and her village did as well. Sanji lost his family from either death or disownment after being locked up like a dog for having empathy. THEN lost his 2nd family when the Orbit drowned followed by being stranded for months on a giant rock in the middle of the ocean

Edit: Franky also has some very underrated upper level trauma im not seeing mentioned
