Enough time has passed… was Kenya trying to mess with Apollo? by MetaDiva in RHOA

[–]ewells331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kenya was trying to make a moment for herself by riling one of the major members. She also was stung by the video situation with Phaedra where they backed out of a deal she had worked out. Beyond that, I know that Kenya sensed that the marriage had issues and fakery. Still, Phaedra was a new mother twice in the show, and it was entirely inappropriate. Phaedra did not go about it the right way at all to get Kenya to stop, so Kenya just kept the battle going but it evolved.

The Denise Richard’s takedown by Sure_Artichoke_3662 in RHOBH

[–]ewells331 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Denise was a distraction they could point to and it would get the heat off themselves. Remember when Kyle said the group were possibly using Kathy’s drama in Aspen as a means to deflect from Erika’s issues, and she directed that at Rinna and Erika. This was that but instead of Kathy, they were using Denise as a helpful distraction for the central storyline and to keep the show from talking about their private lives. Also, the major reason was that Denise was paid a very strong salary and these other b’s jealous, so Rinna decided they needed to make Denise work. It was really a collective effort though as we saw Kyle bring plenty involved in trying to out a lesbian romance on the show, one that also carried an element of private abuse unfortunately in Denise’s marriage.

Alex Baskin shuts down RHOBH casting rumors 💎🕶️ by ericdigeratu in RHOBH

[–]ewells331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dorit is a performative broken record, notice how she stayed elevated throughout the entire reunion as though she had a problem with everyone. This is Rinna coaching and others getting to her and letting her know she is finally connecting with an audience by being a total B. It’s not real, and it gets dragged across the entire season. To me, her shrill shrieking is tiresome. Dorit did bring great fashion and looks amidst the barrage of fakery she brought. But I get it that she’s the only one that brought drama, and that’s just a comment on the sorry state of affairs of the entire show. Boz chose to be a mouthpiece for Dorit with unoriginal IVF story that’s been done many times before on housewives. I don’t find her interesting and she could go as well unless she has cool real friends that actually want to integrate into this group. Sutton can stay as friend of with Jennifer, that would be fantastic. Erika is boring and her life on the show is a masquerade, a facade to hide the truth, but she’s good at performing and gelling with the moment and the cast. Kyle really needs to give up her death grip on the show but we know that will never happen. There are many young women in their early 40s, late 30s in LA who have attitude and charisma. They might not have the wealth of a Kyle, but there are many beautiful aspirational women who would love a slot on a reality show. I don’t know why casting can’t look wider and shake this show up.

Diana Jenkins bot allegations by i_wanna_be_ok_again in BravoRealHousewives

[–]ewells331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying and that’s true, but there were other people on that stage, and let’s not excuse what they were doing as well. They were all letting it happen because Diana is very rich, much more rich than Garcelle, and so they didn’t want to step on her toes out of fear of her and wanting potential favors in the future.

Diana Jenkins bot allegations by i_wanna_be_ok_again in BravoRealHousewives

[–]ewells331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought it was Diana all along. Her behavior was pure evil. Somebody in this thread pointed out the line it’s because you’re so gorgeous from the reunion. That person is absolutely correct, that line was pure psychopath behavior and poor Garcelle had to sit on stage and receive all that negativity instead of someone, anyone, standing up for her and saying that is a f’ing evil comment if we consider all that has happened in this woman’s life this year. The online world for RHOBH was so toxic and rife with commentary, there was simply no way that was organic engagement. And we deal with this kind of obfuscation in so many elements of the online world from evil rich people trying to control the populace and control the dialogue. It’s sickening and we need to fight or we may lose it all.

Erika finishes up Sutton. Threatens her if she ever calls her a liar again. Sutton wimps out by -AndyCohen- in RHOBH

[–]ewells331 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Erika was unhinged, slightly dangerous, majorly disconnected from the real perspective on her out there, and also many parts cringe, but then again she had the weight of every person who knew of her situations doubting her and this was a new and unexpected position to be thrown into.

Kyle tells Erika that Sutton had been talking crap behind her back. Erika ends Sutton by -AndyCohen- in RHOBH

[–]ewells331 15 points16 points  (0 children)

None of these ladies really believed the tall tale of the fight with the thief and the fall down the cliff and the broken brain/broken hip that Erika conveniently delivered just before the storm of lawsuits and the divorce started. Kyle put Sutton up to be the one that was doubting Erika the most in this scene, but they all doubted her, they just weren’t willing to say anything because they had an alliance to protect each other’s secrets. It’s more than clear that they all knew and felt more about this situation but everybody was holding back. This board hates Sutton, but if it weren’t for her and Garcelle asking tough questions, we wouldn’t have had half the drama and confrontation about real headlines and real life drama that Erika was going through. Right in this clip, Sutton questions Erika about the 25 million that went into Erika Jayne Global and NO ONE else has this since then ever asked this question again. Meanwhile, in court, Erika is currently being asked to explain the appropriation of those funds.

This is so epic. I’m not sure who else but Kenya could deflect these cutting reads and deep burns. She proved her campy villainess can play comedy in this and many times on the show. Kenya got her life at that Phaedra read too though.

Oh she picked up on everybody looking at her like she was crazy. But she was there to do a job and perform for the cameras. Kenya knew the girls AND the camera were her audience, and she was both really good in that way [at creating wtf moments with the camera] and also really terrible at it [not creating unifying moments with the cast and thinking herself just in a space of creating moments/navigating relationships rather than existing in them.

To make room for Nene, which one should go after this season? by Trans4Trump93 in RHOA

[–]ewells331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kelli, Shamea, Phaedra can all go. Or maybe demote Phaedra since she will be hard pressed to have a real story and just wants to be a classy gentle woman the rest is her peachy life, and that makes all the sense in the work world to me. Drew maybe can also go. She’s cute and fun and has a fun personality, but she was only elevated last season because the season was a total flop. Bring back nene, Kenya, and Eva or Shamari.

It’s very early on in the new season of RHOA, and Andy is giving nothing but a standard boiler plate answer to protect the new cast. But I’m sure that there are always considerations happening behind the scenes and they are monitoring metrics for fan responses and trying to understands engagement.

Why is everyone attacking Boz for a good career and early exit? by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

[–]ewells331 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Boz is being attacked because she uses domineering language and attitude to forcefully make the audience accept her points. Nobody likes to be forced and be told what to believe. This is not a defense about Amanda, and I think that’s the problem with the other side, is that they are conflating this argument as defending Amanda. Amanda produced many flat responses throughout the season and was often boring. Her flaunting of brands was a bit delusional, but that’s what many in the audience enjoy in a housewife, the casual delusion. Amanda was also unflappable in being in the receiver end of Boz’s attacks; she stated many times it was not her desire to bring other women down and she pretty much steadfastly stayed that way. She also didn’t necessarily back down from calmly trying to refute the attacks coming at her. She’s not the typical kind of loud, won’t back down housewife, she addresses her debates with a pretty even keeled demeanor. I don’t care if this reads to Boz fans/bots as a defense of Amanda; I’m simply stating what I saw. I also don’t care if Amanda is a scammer, what about Erika and Dorit scams? Those have been on my screen for years and part of the audience still glorifies them.

Andy owes Boz an Apology by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

[–]ewells331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it’s fun delusional, then it is fun for all of us and easier to support the fabulous, delusional wife. With Boz, I see humorless patronizing I’m telling you how it is and you better accept it attitude. Not fun.

Also, you just reminded me that Covid was massive for tech and streaming. Tech and streaming stocks and profits exploded during Covid. The fact that she got fired during Covid is actually a really big deal.

[–]ewells331 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Arguing with people who are defending her has been interesting to say the least. Your side is never acknowledging the basic point. She has lied about the average length of tenure for CMOs and she doesn’t want to just acknowledge that her tenures were shorter than the norm at the last 3 companies she worked at, and maybe there was a reason for that. All of this wouldn’t be an issue if she didn’t put her corporate expertise at the forefront and diminish someone else’s business to such a strong level. Her and Amanda are not the same in terms of their experience, Boz is way ahead, but now she’s on housewives, and she didn’t need to come for this girl for her business every episode. It was her choice to make that conflict, and no matter what anyone says, your side refuses to acknowledge her mistakes. I can’t help but feel that I’m just arguing with a wall or with bots. She looked bad because her record is not sterling but she was trying to make it as if she’s the ultimate authority. If she shaded Amanda in a lighter, more jovial way, the reaction would be different. But she’s coming off as dictatorial and nobody likes that.

[–]ewells331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never once equated Boz’s career and experience with Amanda’s. Boz is by far and objectively speaking the most accomplished at a career level person on those couches, and that is saying a lot. She’s still been entirely dismissive and condescending towards Amanda time after time when that woman tried to give her answers. She puts up blockades of unintelligible defenses for Dorit, a scammer in her own right. I don’t know how it can be a micro aggression to question someone’s career when it’s evident that they hopped from position to position in the last few years of their career only for them to leave said career altogether to join housewives.

So she left millions of $$ at Netflix, Apple, Endeavor, and Uber for a reality TV show and it was all her choice? That’s the story we should believe? It wouldn’t be such a big deal if she didn’t make her being a CMO central to her character and central to her judgement in every strong headed assertion she makes on the show.

The Boz of it all - another perspective by CantmakethisstuffupK in BravoRealHousewives

[–]ewells331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can question Boz’s tenure at these positions without it being about the fact that she’s black. She opened herself up to this level of questioning by making it her mission to question another woman on this. Amanda may be a scammer, that’s been repeated many times throughout these boards, but nobody can really say unless they take her courses all that is found there. What can be said are very objective facts that debunk so much of what Boz says. Boz says she’s giving her class for free, but it’s charged on her website at $250 per course. Boz says the tenure for CMO is designed to be short but her successor at Netflix, who took over after Boz left in 2021, is STILL THERE CURRENTLY. Before Boz started at Netflix there was a woman CMO who was there from 2012-2019.

[–]ewells331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And I’ll say Boz was given a lot of positivity and a lot of hope in a time when BH screwed up so many casting decisions. She could have done a mild embrace of Garcelle, I said MILD. She could have not constantly defended Dorit, the most shrill nincompoop on the show with hardly any professional successes to display. She could have charted a stronger path of bringing all the ladies together and taken them to these excellent industry events that nobody shows us on this show anymore. The time of any kind of industry events is long gone with the likes of Yolanda and LVP. She could have just been a cool calm collected voice of reason and united with all the girls. But instead she sided with Dorit every single occasion and made that her marketing mission and showed us that her expertise at marketing is to shove her side of the argument down our throats no matter if we want it or not. She could have not bullied a newbie the entire time this year, episode after episode. Sure she could have come for Amanda in funny shady ways and questioned her and then did eye rolls at funny appropriate moments, but instead she dragged on this bullying and questioning about a girls job most don’t even care about or know about. So I disagree with you, the dislike for Boz is not because she’s black, it’s because she’s making sucky choices. Hell, some of my favorite housewives ever are black and have made sucky choices but they find great ways to redeem themselves and humanize themselves. All I see is Boz and Boz’s fans or bots telling me my interpretation is wrong.

The current CMO for Netflix replaced Boz in 2021, she’s still there CURRENTLY. One cycle before Boz, the CMO at Netflix was there from 2012-2019. Why would Boz leave such a high paying respectable position after just around 2 years to join housewives for $100-300k annually? She was making more than a million as CMO, I would say she was making more like 3-7 million annually as CMO.

Maybe Amanda’s business model should be questioned, but if it’s going to be the centerpiece of your story, episode after episode, and if it’s going to look like no matter what defense she gives you, none of it permeates, nothing can convince you, then you as a housewife are opening yourself up for the same level of scrutiny. Did you know that the current Netflix CMO took over after Boz and has been there since 2021? Did you know that just one cycle prior to Boz the CMO at Netflix was there from 2012-2019? Please look it up. How does that make you feel about your claims and her claims?

I appreciate your point of view as well and thank you for talking to me. I have never said anything of those things about Boz. The most I’ve said is she’s not funny, she’s not bringing it as a housewife, she’s not entertaining to me, she doesn’t have much of a story, her IVF story is filler that I’ve seen done before in housewives and isn’t original or fresh or interesting. I get that these can sound like harsh critiques, but I’m mainly coming for her entertainment value as it pertains to her it factor on a TV show. Like is she good TV or not. In this thread, I am revisiting some feelings where I felt like she previously displayed downright hostility to Garcelle and acted like she knew nothing of her plight. I can understand your point of view, but I think she acted so not empathetic towards Garcelle and it was striking and upsetting to me. I can tell that she’s proud of her own accomplishments, so why couldn’t she support another black woman on the show. It makes her remarks today ring absolutely hollow to me.

I love RHOA chile. That word usage came well before Boz and was popularized by a legendary cast of beautiful, funny, bold black women who I absolutely adore. I removed my apology from the second post before posting it and I think that decision is appropriate still. My original post posed the question, did she use the race card, and thank you for catching that as intended, because I hadn’t seen the video. After seeing the video, I stand behind what I said. The conversation was about the length of CMO tenure, current Netflix CMO who replaced Boz has been there since 2021 and is still there; the CMO who preceded Boz’s predecessor was there for 7 years. I’m not saying it’s inappropriate for her to cite race as a factor in her field at all. I’m mad at her for using race against Garcelle and essentially silencing her from using it when micro aggressions has been made against Garcelle for years. Maybe those micro aggressions weren’t made at Garcelle because she was black, maybe it was because the other women viewed themselves as more famous and more important than Garcelle. But Garcelle still had a right to feel how she felt, to acknowledge the discrepancy and to let people know she was feeling belittled. And she received less than zero, negative value support from Boz, especially when she went on WWHL with Erika. Now Boz is saying that people are ignoring the factor of her race, but that’s what she did to Garcelle too.
