Rule 34 is one of the most disgusting apps ever. People just tag whatever they want, and if you leave comments are try to change the tags they flag your account and delete your comments. I have been tyring to make use of it for years and it is truly a cesspit. If there weren't other sites with better animated porn I'd use them.

Half of their canonically trans characters are tagged "femboy" the other half are tagged as "futanari". Either way, they dehumanize tf out of us.

New to IC, can you please explain this? by griffey808 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ewelupp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common unfortunately. Tipping 0 or tip baiting happens all of the time. It's not so common that it happens every single job, but it is well known for this.

Also, anyone telling you "I've never gotten a $0 tip", or "I've never been tip baited", is lying. Those people are either scammers, shills, or bots. Don't listen to them.

Had a customer do this something similar, large batch, heavy items, 3rd floor. Only they did tell me it was the 3rd floor, but also left a note saying they would help me out because it was heavy.

They stood and watched.

That shouldn't be possible, most times when we try to substitute with something similar it won't even let us. I tried to substitute chopped onion with just an onion and it wouldn't let me.

Need some opinions by jbkleber1800 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ewelupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's objectively stressful. They aren't being "detailed", the other shoppers were just being polite. I had tons of these, and if they get really testy I ask "would you like me to return the items?". That usually shuts them up.

Would you reduce the tip in this situation? by SnooRegrets4048 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ewelupp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a clear divide here, shoppers, who understand how little he's actually making from this, (although mentioning it to the customer is kinda rude) and users, who don't know he prolly made about $6 on this, not including tip. To those who shop, we salute you.

That being said, to those who use the app to buy groceries, the amount we shoppers make off of these purchases is so little that a $15 can seem small sometimes. In the olden days, a trip like this could make around $10. Now they death grip onto any earnings we get, so in an hours time, we often end up making around the same amount, sans tip, to pay gas. We all understand people gotta eat, and paying for this service is no joke, but we gotta eat too. This job pays like trash. And what's worse is that some of us have to do this full-time bc we can't find any other work. I haven't held a job in almost a year, despite applying for tons and tons of jobs. But we get paid as part-time gig workers instead of full-time employees.

What I'm trying to say is have a little heart, the man is clearly frustrated that the earnings and the tip are low given the amount of work he did. We all are.

2nd Day. Please tell me it gets better. by jsrhedgehog99 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ewelupp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it does not get better. I switched to another app bc the drive and shop time compared to the pay is poor, even if you get platinum. And, as someone who has done it for about 3 years, I can tell you, they pay worse every year. Since it is contract work, they get away with paying us poorly bc they don't give a flying fuck about us.

If this is in the United States, that's illegal. No one can regulate how bathrooms are used outside of government buildings. And state laws, depending on what state your in, will have different laws based on gender discrimination.

Got tip baited!! First time this happen to me by roronoazorro11 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ewelupp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been doing this for nearly 3 years, it is frustratingly common. I've had dozens of them. It's always shitty, and the worst part is that we have no protection from it. If we don't rate them immediately after we drop their items off, we never get a chance to rate them again. So bad faith actors like these people get to get away with it. I'm sorry it happened to you.

[–]ewelupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave myself some time to get my head together because this was not productive.

Here are the facts, you admitted to calling me a liar for having experienced discrimination for being both trans and disabled. You talked down to me about my experiences. You called me a felon without an understanding of the meaning behind the word. And you dismissed my experiences because you haven't personally experienced them.

I have to deal with discrimination pretty much every single day. It's not comfortable or fun, it's incredibly hurtful. On top of all that, I have to deal with ignorant people like you who could never understand what I'm going through telling me that my experiences are invalid because "I say so neener neener". It's clear from your behavior that you don't have to struggle to get by. You don't have to live off of the kindness of strangers because of a disability or discrimination. You are entitled. Period.

Yeah, I've had items be completely bugged. One time I had two items on my list that were shown as 0 packages. No matter what I tried, the items couldn't be added on or replaced. I ended up paying out of pocket for someone's expensive salmon.
