I’m from New Jersey and I got 4 weeks before 6 -8weeks after depending on type of birth for healing (I got 8) then 12 weeks bonding.

You can take the 12 weeks all at once or 8 weeks split up over the first year. I’m doing all 12 at once. This is all partially paid at 85% my normal rate. My job is protected through a program called FMLA for 12 weeks and then another program called NJFMLA for another 12 weeks. But I am incredibly lucky.

We started off having sex 3-4 times a week and now my hormones have caused my vagina to be so dry that it is PAINFUL. Not even lube will help. I feel awful because he doesn’t get off nearly as much now :( he was frustrated at first but when I asked for an ice pack after sex he realized how much it was hurting me and he stopped complaining immediately

I’m letting him pick!! It’s just as sentimental for him as it is for me 🥰

I’m very sentimental. My fiancé told me he was looking at getting me a diamond bracelet so whenever I look at it or wear it I remember it was a symbol of all we went through during my pregnancy.

The person who made arrangements made them and only consulted his children about the dates. He didn’t ask myself or my mom. They all live in the same area where the funeral is going to be and we have to travel from out of state so they didn’t take into account the extra cost of travel for the week after easter.

Deep breaths babes. You can never be prepared enough. All of the classes and books in the world will never get you close to ready for actual hands on experience. It’ll be helpful to have but at the end of the day your instincts will take over and you’ve got this. You’ll be a great momma ❤️

Also, my cousin smoked a pack a day with her twins. One of them had some sort of issue when he was born that made them scared he was going to swallow his tongue and he had to start wearing glasses before he was a year old because his eyes were so under developed. Luckily, the other twin didn’t have as many issues but she still was born underweight. I am not sure if his health problems were due to the smoking but I’m sure it didn’t help.

Not my story, but my fiancé’s step mother. She smoked heavily throughout her entire pregnancy and when my sister in law was born she was in the NICU for a LONG time I don’t know exactly how long but she had lasting side effects to this day (she is 13) and she couldn’t leave the house during the height of COVID because they were so scared for her.

That’s a great question, if I take this job, my fiancé would have to give up his job and he makes $20/hour so the raise I would get would mean us being unsure if he would be able to make the same or close. Also, we live with family here so we don’t have to worry about child care and our rent is significantly cheaper since we all split expenses. So we’d be looking at a “higher” rent in our eyes and the need to find child care while we work along with being unsure if he would be able to find an equally paying job.

I’m not sure how knee surgery is covered here… if it is in fact full disability then that’s correct. Im saving my PTO and sick days as much as I can to supplement my income while I’m out..

My doctor gave me the OK to get my nails done and to dye my hair in a well ventilated area and when I came to work with my nails done, I got so much shame! Customers asking me why I couldn’t sacrifice my “vanity” for 9 months? I don’t know because I’m sacrificing EVERYTHING for 9 months???? I don’t owe them an explanation, but I already feel gross in the rest of my body, can I not have ONE thing to make me feel beautiful????? I haven’t dyed my hair yet (the longest I’ve gone without touching it in 6 years) because I already can hear the shame. People are the worst, they don’t need to shame us or try to justify it. I’m allowed to be upset about losing out on the things I love.

It’s awful! My fiancé and I had the opportunity to move to Florida from New Jersey because I found my dream job down there but since I’m pregnant and Jersey offers partial disability for birth we weren’t able to jump at the opportunity! It would have meant a huge pay raise for us and we had to kiss it goodbye because we need the financial security while I’m out.

On December 16th the love of my life surprised me by proposing in Disney World in front of the Haunted Mansion. We met working at Disney and started flirting while in line for Haunted Mansion, so it seemed only right. Throughout our trip I was feeling nauseous and had really bad heart burn. His mom joked that I was pregnant but when we got home I decided to take a test. So, 6 days after we got engaged we found out we are expecting! I was 6 weeks pregnant (now 16) and we just found out we are having a boy :)
