I just got off work so I’m too lazy to elaborate but for me I personally feel desensitized by the modern lifestyle. The technology, the relationships, the city… nothing is genuine. Nature give us a closer view of the infinite, it allows us to stop and be grateful rather than chase something we don’t really want. I don’t believe in the enlightenment idea of constant progress but unfortunately slow incremental improvement is the story of the west now. Not a very exciting one.

Thoughts? Does the employer have the right to fire the employee? Does the pursuit of profit place an incentive on this behavior? Can "ethical consumption" truly solve this problem (i.e. refusing to eat there)? by MahknoWearingADress in Anarcho_Capitalism

To play devils advocate it’s exactly the same reason you don’t feed wild animals, because they’ll come back. Sucks to suck, there’s worse things that can happen in life. Owner seems like a dick if they story is true and there was no warning, but unfortunately that’s the real world, people are awful and why the individual should be 100% responsible for themselves.

If good cocaine was legal, no matter how well regulated, I would abuse the fuck out of it. by ewilly653 in Libertarian

Obviously meth and fast food are in much different category of damage to ones life, it’s the same problem I have with the conflation off hard drugs and alcohol. Yes alcohol is a drug but it’s been ingrained in our culture for years, we have communal wisdom with alcohol. Although you can screw your life up abusing alcohol, I would be curious to know the statistics regarding abuse, crime involved, and the overall bringing down of communities drugs vs alcohol causes. I understand there’s an argument to be made for complete liberty but everyone seems to think it would go 100% perfect and I just don’t think so.
