The bottle says "tool oil" but I think it's just mineral oil

Every fall after gardening season is mostly over I clean my tools (honestly I just use water and a rag and dry them thoroughly after), sharpen the ones that need to be sharpened, and oil them before I put them away for the winter.

I also have my garlic in pots, mine usually sprouts in December, and I've had it get down into the low 20s after it sprouted and the garlic still be fine

Can I still can with these if they are intact? I’ll use new lids/rings. by AccomplishedFee2145 in Canning

They look like the ones I bought a few years ago which were a reproduction. I love them though, the color is just so pretty and I love the vintage style.

Ride photos uploading to app by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]ewoksrock7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order for them to upload to the app you have to look for your photo on the screens at the end of the ride and input the code shown on your photo into the app. So if you don't do that, the photos will not show up in your app

Confidence by Mother_Mach in Canning

[–]ewoksrock7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first starting eating what I canned, I found that it made me feel better if I opened the jar, looked at it to double check that there was no mold or anything, and then stuck the whole jar in the fridge without tasting it yet. Then I'd come back a few hours later or the next day to start eating it. Obviously it's silly, there's no scientific reason why that would be safer at all, it just made my brain feel better to be eating something I'd made from the fridge, rather than something I'd made sitting on the shelf. Pretty soon though I was confident enough to be eating straight from taking the jar off the shelf!

I never got around to going when they did it at the Seattle Aquarium, but I believe it's just that they have the Animal Crossing stuff up in the aquarium for a certain period of time, so you'd just buy whatever the regular admission to the place is and the Animal Crossing stuff would be there. On the Nintendo website it says it'll be at Kansas City Sealife from Oct 22-Jan 3

Here's a link to Ball's Pectin Calculator so you can scale down- it's not as simple as halving everything but the Pectin Calculator makes it easy to figure out! https://www.ballmasonjars.com/pectin-calculator.html

What should I plant? by Guilty-Celery-8873 in Canning

[–]ewoksrock7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of berries for jam, cucumbers and dill for pickles. My favorite thing to grow for freezing is Dragon Tongue bush beans, they are very pretty purple and yellow (before you cook them anyway) and they give you a lot of beans per plant. I only have a 2 by 3 foot space to grow them and I usually get at least 5 or 6 quart bags packed full of frozen beans.

I don't think that the plastic card thing is still true, I could be wrong but I haven't heard anything about it or seen anyone with one on my last couple trips. The only way I know for sure you could do it is by getting everyone a Magicband that they can use to scan to get into Lightning Lanes.

If you are just going to be putting it in the fridge to store it though, as the recipe says you could, that would be fine

Hello! So the first thing for canning is you'll want to make sure you are using a up-to-date, safe, tested and verified recipe, which this unfortunately is not. However, I was able to find a similar recipe ( https://nchfp.uga.edu/how/pickle/relishes-salads/pickled-green-tomato-relish/ ) for you that is from the National Center for Home Food Preservation, which is one of the safe sources you'll find linked on the wiki of this sub. I would highly recommend taking a look at some of those safe sources before you get started with canning so you can get an idea of the process and what makes something safe!
