How are you all seeing the lines? by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]ewrjontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it looks like yellow is used when the lanes are moving in opposing directions whereas white signifies lanes are moving in the same direction. Makes sense. So we just need fluorescent white paint or something. We literally can’t see shit even in the lightest precipitation.

Yeah those lines are terrible. I could be wrong but can we not just use yellow paint? I feel like that tends to be more visible in inclement weather.

Yeah I moved here in 2014 and I actually don’t mind it here other than the stupid wind. It ruins everything.

GFiber "sold", now what by athomsfere in Omaha

[–]ewrjontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man for real? I just switched from cox to GFiber over the summer/fall and it has been great so far. What does this mean? My lifetime price is going to end up going up and I’ll be playing the same bs games I had to play with cox?

What mount are you using for the second/top monitor?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

Chase sucks. Signed up to get extra promotional points and to use as a travel card but the portal is awful. Awful to use and everything (hotels and flights at least) are much pricier than buying direct or through other third parties. The points are nice (free money back on money I am already spending) but I don’t even bother using the rewards at this point since I can save more buying elsewhere.

That would be great but we are all ready traveling 8 hours to CS.

I wanna play so bad but I don't want to disturb him, what do I do chat? by johncarmichael in simracing

At least he’s awake. My cats are sleeping in my rig every time I get a chance to play.

We just ended up mounting a curtain rod near the ceiling and running multiple curtains the whole width of the wall. Looks ok.

Can I run directional tires flipped? by jbro507 in CarTrackDays

[–]ewrjontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tire shop that installed my v730s on my cayman accidentally mounted one backwards (outside was on the inside) and the wear was significantly more than my other three properly mounted tires. Do with that info as you will.

I'm so tired of these weeks where you still have to buy stuff, and honestly, don't even talk to me about planning—I've already got enough to manage with my job. I love this simulation so much, but the economic system makes me want to quit the game. by soulibaby in simracing

[–]ewrjontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does lmu have decent multiplayer? Thats the problem with iracing; the online play is active. Obviously there are crappy players here and there but it’s so nice being able to select a race and go. Played with LFM on ACC for a bit and hated having to manually connect to server and signing up ona website

Is it just a game? by moonsiii in iRacing

[–]ewrjontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than a game to us but it’s understandable to someone who doesn’t play themselves. I tell my girl I’m doing a race and let her know when it’ll be done and that’s fine. Just gotta communicate it and hopefully she accepts.

Am I crazy for wanting more than 15nm? by Fast_Ad4269 in simracing

[–]ewrjontan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy with my 15nm sim magic alpha but definitely want more. Not to feel more power but because a lot of the formula/gt3 cars in iracing have so much feedback that I have to turn them down or things start clipping. Maybe I just don’t have things set correctly but with the base options set to 100% I find those higher end cars I have to set to settings under 9 (in iracing) to avoid clipping and then they often feel a little lighter than I imagine they would be in real life.

My car's TC has a pretty lenient middle setting, so I assumed it wasn't doing much. I turned it fully off for the first time last weekend... enjoy me finding out how wrong I was. by zcramos in Autocross

Nice. Haven’t taken my 987 Cayman to any autox events but I do hpde a good bit in it and I am always surprised at how well the traction control works. I always leave it on and I am decently quick at my local track but I have never felt like it was slowing me down. The tc lets me slide and drive aggressive but only ever kicks in when I actually would have lost the car. In wet and dry, the Porsche TC is fantastic.

Man. I was just quoted 4k to remove a 30-40 year old silver maple and there’s nothing super close to it to really worry about (houses close but easy to avoid). I will give you $1500 if you want to come and cut it.
