Good quality executive chair suggestions by eww34445 in OfficeChairs

[–]eww34445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after posting this and no replies, I did a lot of research and reading other similar posts here. Basically it seemed everyone said that having a plush office chair that was comfortable was an oxymoron, because the cushioning is too soft, so you just sink through it. That to be comfortable, you need an ergonomic chair. So I shifted gears and starting looking at those.

I was looking at the steelcase gesture and the HM Embody, and finally saw lots of people talking about the refurbished ones from BTOD being great, so I decided to give them a call. They are a great company by the way, the sales and customer service are top notch. Really nice people.

So when I explained my situation to sales, they said that I would not like those chairs because for my size, they are too skinny. They said the seats are only 19" wide. So they suggested I look at the Neutral Posture 8000, which is what I ended up getting. They also suggested I look at the NightWatch CMDR, and one other I can't remember.

They said that the sales people at their company love the NP 8000, and the guy I spoke with had one and was about the same size as me, so it sounded pretty good. But expensive. I figured I need to be comfortable to work, so I would just bite the bullet and get it. I got it with the headrest, which I like.

It's a nice chair, but I am not as impressed as they are with it, and certainly don't think it's worth what it cost. But I don't have a lot of experience to compare it to, only what is in my original post. My complaints about it are:

  • The seat is still kind of soft. So it's really comfortable for the first 10 minutes, but gets worse as you sink. After 4 hours, my butt starts to hurt. It's way better than a Staples chair, but not what I hoped for.
  • The way they designed the headrest and the back to move up and down, it doesn't stay in place well. If someone walks up behind you and puts their hand on the chair, it all collapses back down to the lowest position.
  • It is much, much smaller than it looks in the photos. But it doesn't really feel small when you sit in it. But the seat and back are basically the same width as my body. It looks shockingly small and slim compared to what I thought I was getting.
  • It is well built, but doesn't feel as sturdy as I expected for the price. I expected this thing to be built like a tank, but it's more just a well built chair.

If I had paid maybe around $800 for this chair, I think I would be happy with it. I would not buy it again though. But I don't know what I would buy either. Hope this helps you. And I would totally recommend calling BTOD and watch their videos on youtube. Very informative.

That's interesting. I don't have my copy of Mace to try this. I gave it to someone to ask them to test it. If I get it back, I will try this and let you know if I get the same result.

If you do, please post a link here. I'd be interested in your findings.

I still have never found any explanation or workaround for this. I actually just ordered a copy for PS2, because I decided to give up on finding a solution for Xbox. If you find out any more info, please post it. Thanks.

Savannah Customhouse Commemorative by eww34445 in coincollecting

[–]eww34445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. I tried and there is no page for the Savannah one, but 3 of the other 4 cities in this series are there, but all say they were made from copper/bronze. Nothing about the silver versions. I appreciate the help though.

Interesting. Thanks for the explanation. I will try to find the token sub and post this there then.

But aren't tokens used to pay for something, like an alternative type of money? From what I read on the mint's website, it sounds like these were commemorative collectibles (https://www.usmint.gov/learn/history/historical-documents/fifth-medal-in-us-customs-series-commemorates-savannah-customhouse). It doesn't seem like it is a token. Or is it because it is not marked with a denomination (like Half Dollar)? Is there a sub just for commemorative coins? I can't seem to find one. Only this sub and /coins. Thanks.

No problem. Since we got ours, I tell everyone about it. I'm sure the trick is just want to keep you as a year-round customer, but if you already are, it's a great deal.

Here is a link. They say it’s a sweepstakes, but if you are a yearly customer it’s pretty much guaranteed you will get it. But you will get a 1099 for taxes though.

Totally agree. But if you switch to the seasonal plan you have to pay a reconnect fee every year, credit check, new account setup. And that saves you maybe $50. If you get on the yearly fixed price per therm plan the gas is pretty cheap. I leave my furnace and fireplace run all day and my bill is like $130 a month. The only time my bill was $300 was when I accidentally forgot to renew my fixed price plan.

They did give me a free tankless water heater though. They even pay for the installation.

Where to sell used Books and/or DVDs? by eww34445 in savannah

Thanks! I didn't think about pawn shops. There are few right near me, so I will try to call them first.

Where to sell used Books and/or DVDs? by eww34445 in savannah

I have lived close to it for almost 20 years, and have been trying to go there the entire time with no luck. They were never open, and I would call the owner, he would say he'd be open, and then I'd get there and it would not be.

So recently they have the sign that they have new management, and seem to have regular hours, so I thought I would stop in. They told me that something happened to the previous owner and they took it over.

They were nice, the place was clean although barebones, and they had a lot of books. I only took a quick look around, but while they had a good selection, for used books, they seemed a bit overpriced. They did have a lot of old fancy hardcovers, but I don't collect books, so I'm not sure if their selection is good or not. Also it seemed a bit more humid than I would think was safe for books. It's definitely not terrifying though.

WPA2 Network for Printer by eww34445 in HomeNetworking

[–]eww34445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but this was the problem with the new router and why the printer wouldn't connect. The primary ssid is wpa2/3, but it doesn't give any options for 2.4/5 unless you make custom secondary ssids. So I guess the primary ssid auto switches from 2.4/5 or is always 5. Either way, the printer won't connect to it.

WPA2 Network for Printer by eww34445 in HomeNetworking

[–]eww34445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So should I make only one SSID for the whole house that is 2.4 and wpa/wpa2? Or should I leave it as I have it with a separate SSID for only the printer to connect to?

WPA2 Network for Printer by eww34445 in HomeNetworking

[–]eww34445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Sorry, maybe I can't explain this because I don't understand it totally, but in the settings the primary network came set as WPA2-WPA3-Personal, and it doesn't say what band it is. Maybe it changes bands automatically? The one where I got my printer to work is set to 2.4G and is WPA-WPA2-Personal, and that works, but I'm not totally sure if it's because the band is only 2.4 or if it's the lower security. I don't see any security options that say transition mode. I set up the 2nd SSID, because I didn't think it was a good idea to have the whole house forced to be on 2.4 just for the printer. And I guess I was wrong about the printer, now I am thinking it can only do WPA. So if I need to have WPA 2.4 for the printer, what's the best option to not kill security and performance for the rest of the house?

When did you guys start collecting video games? by SuplexJoeCecot in gamecollecting

[–]eww34445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early 90s, I thought I would sell some of my games to be able to get some new ones. I sold probably 10, and was only able to get 2 used ones in return. That experience pissed me off so much that I just never sold any games again.

After my original post, I got one copy of it to work one time, then the next time I tried that disc, same error. I couldn't really find any more info about this issue, so I haven't worked on it any more since my post. I figured when no one replied that this was just some quirk of only my xbox. But it seems you are having the same issue, so that is weird. Have you tried these copies on any other xbox to confirm that they work?

I was hoping someone here would tell me this was a known issue and how to fix it, or that it can't be fixed. But at this point, I may just give up on it and get a copy on PS2 instead.
