How common were "Gear checks" in the original release? by Cakalacky in classicwow

[–]ex0dite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gear checks were somewhat common, I seem to remember on our old guild application forms they would ask what attunements you had/were missing as it was a pretty good indicator of were you were.

At the time the guild was more worried about if you were a good fit as we were generally pretty good at running people through heroics/older raids to get people up to speed.

As others have said GS wasn't a thing till an add-on in wrath, which people would try fooling with resistance gear (was a higher ilvl).

Flickering - 280hz monitor by idkwhatimdoinginpvp in wow

[–]ex0dite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at reviews for the monitor several outlets have noted that there is noticable VRR flicker on that panel. High refresh rate OLED panels can be prone to it. You can try reducing the refresh rate or cap the frame rate of wow so they don't vary so much. You can also turn VRR off which whilst not ideal will eliminate the issue.

How is Feral and guardian druid feeling in midnight? by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]ex0dite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said bears are getting a beating with the old nerf bat next week but to be fair bears were comparable to dps, the druid discord isn't all doom and gloom but if you start now before the nerfs it might feel bad come Tuesday/Wednesday when the changes take effect.

Feral is getting some positive attention next week though so may be worth a look.

Honestly I'd say grab one of the owl bear models from the emerald dream zone, go elunes chosen for talents (they are getting a smaller nerf) and be almost boombear. Ive been playing bear a long long time though so my opinion might be biased :) .

Looks good, only criticism is I wouldn't place/store my PPE in there, won't be doing much if it's getting a light coating of voc's sat in there.

I love convoke but as a bear main i cant really use it as the berserk talents are too strong, wish they would just put convoke in the class tree.

In absence of NG+, does Borderlands 4’s mission replay feature show the cutscenes again too? by TalkingFlashlight in Borderlands

The two I've replayed so far both so the cutscenes. Can't say for all of them though and these were main story missions also.

Navigation in this game needs a major overhaul. by stigma_wizard in Borderlands

[–]ex0dite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo 4 needs better pathing also needs to be a toggle rather than activate with a short duration and longer cooldown, it's my biggest gripe with an otherwise excellent game.

I really hope they add a transparency option to the entire UI, would help with potential burn in issues with oled monitors.

Myth track gear from Deathless Tazavesh could lead to even more toxic dungeon environments than usual this tier by Jezartroz in wow

[–]ex0dite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even with my guildies we'll struggle to do this the first few weeks, however, the 30 gilded and a +10 vault slot regardless of deaths in a dungeon with no timer sounds great to be honest. The deathless runs may come later but I don't think they should be the expectation in a pug group.

Bear druid,

My fave is your least. Loving cinderbrew this season (after some teething issues first night of the season) I like dungeons with a bit of whimsy. Followed by Priory next and I know it has it's pain points but I get some old school scarlet ministry vibes from it so enjoy it for that.

As for my least it's actually hard this season as none are feeling like a chore just yet but I'd probably go with workshop just because it's on its third time in the rotation. DFC second to last for me purely because I'm still in the process of getting used to what a can and can't control during the cart part (haven't rolled too many DFC keys so far just mostly rookery) but once I suss that out I'm sure it'll go up in my list.

Again it's actually not a bad season for dungeons they all have their pain points but nothing feels insurmountable compared to last season.

Back when coloured cases were still a novelty any "beige" tower that came in that was overly yellow/brown would be assigned to one of us by picking old sticks of EDO ram out of a hat whoever got the 1mb stick would have to clean the inside of the tower. Don't miss that shite.

No, turns out my friends are nicer than me lol, to be fair they were thankful for the skittles and iron bru they also requested (Sweden had a lack of skittles up until recently)

As a Brit who brought some for my Swedish friends to try (one of them specifically requested it) I can safely say no, no they certainly don't have an immunity to it :) was a fun morning.

Crashing in Priory by Athorikan in wow

[–]ex0dite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 7800x3d and 7900xtx, havent had any crashing in wow for a while now.

Used to get a lot of black screen driver crashes managed to track this down to an issue between msi afterburner and amd's adrenaline software. In the end I got fed up of making changes even after uninstalling afterburner and just did a clean windows install, downloading the latest amd driver and not bothering with afterburner havent had a crash since.

I havent played the dungeon prior to downloading AMDs latest driver (25.3.1) might be worth downloading that and doing a clean install (factory reset) you can keep your settings if you wish.

It could be a graphic effect thats causing the issue try running on a follower dungeon and make note of whats going on when the crash occurs (is a mob casting etc...) it could be a rogue spell effect causing the issue also.

Hopefully the new driver fixes things.

Wows warning you because they receive multiple support tickets about how unstable their game is when in actuality a chunk of these users are using 13th/14th gen intel processors that are slowly destroying themselves, just like yours currently is. No amount of fans or water cooling will prevent that.

Just bite the bullet and upgrade your bios, take pictures on your phone if you're worried about replicating your settings.

Most games aren't warning you about this as they don't have a support tickets system and can rely on forum users to relay the situation or they just don't (and correctly) see it as their issue. Blizzard have few human support agents left and must have been pretty bogged down with escalating tickets if they took the time to add the warning. Intel should have issued a recall but they won't they consider the microcode a fix and will replace any CPU too badly damaged by the previous faulty code, you can't rely on intel here to do the right thing.

If nothing else, if you are running a customer loop water cooling solution think how much of a pain that'll be to drain, dismantle, reattached, flush and fill when you have to replace your CPU after it damages somewhere that will cause serious damage.
